Seems like there have been a few mixed experiences here lately which did surprise me. We are regulars here and rarely have had a bad experience and eat as a family or a couple at least once a month. Pricing is in the mid to upper range for Japanese restaurants. What we find is the best way to eat here... More

I guess the Remuera location allows them to charge high prices. But the meals that we had from Soi were no better than you get at a St Pierres outlet. The miso soup was nice though.

Our tennis team captain had arranged dinner at Soi. We (15 team members) had a Five course set menu which were a very nice selection of various Japanese dishes. Great Taste for Great Value and an exceptional friendly service. Thanks Team Soi.

We saw the positive reviews and went with expectations. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The food was average but expensive for what it was. We had sashimi as an entree which was good but not stunning, and deep fried baby crab which was flavorless. Mains were tataki beef which was average and Panko crumbed veal which was good. With two tap... More

We liked the fatty tuna and the whitebait tempura. Nice staff a little crowded on a Friday night. Good local

Really enjoyed the tuna nigiri, beef tataki and chicken karage. The staff were friendly and the food was yum. The ambience very chilled and welcoming.

I've been there with my girlfriend and because she is Japanese, I've decided to bring her to a good Japanese restaurant. I've seen Soi many times on my way home, so I've decided to go there. I was surprised because I didnt reserve a table and we could have our dinner because another couple didnt come for dinner...what a lucky!... More

We had this restaurant recommended to us as being the best Japanese food the person had had. As we were in the area we popped in for lunch on a Saturday and were not disappointed. The ambience and decor of the restaurant is lovely with very good friendly service. We both had the set lunch menu which was excellent. Everything... More

The place is very beautiful and comfortable. I could enjoy healty Japanese food. I've never had such a delicious tofu in New zealand. Cofffee and sweets are also fantastic. It's a little far away from city, but it's worth to try. Moreover, SOI opens for 7days. It might be the only Japanese restaurant where you can go on Sunday night.

What a quaint, comfortable and cosy restaurant. Such a wide variety of delectable dishes on offer. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening meal we had, even though they didn't have Shabu Shabu which drew us there from an online menu (please update!). Will return when back in Auckland. Seating is limited so best to book ahead of time.
