We had a birthday meal here on the weekend - 4 of us had 2 course each, and 2 bottles of wine, for a really reasonable price. One of us is vegan so we called ahead to let them know, and they provided us with a separate vegan menu, not just 1 option! Overall we had an amazing meal and... More

My friends and I were recommended the food at the Griffin and we were not disappointed. We went for lunch and the food was very good. I had the beef bourguinon, it was delicious and reasonably priced too.

Stopped off for light bite prior to meeting and was initially impressed by setting and ambiance - however service slow despite being soup and pate. Pate had too little bread with it in terms of ratio to parfait and although offered more, male waiter too busy having banter with waitress which appeared to be derogatory towards customers so we paid... Wow, what a place! The Caradoc beer is good, the food outstanding with generous portions and reasonably priced. Friendly and welcoming staff, lovely log fires

I love its quirky style and ambience. But little things makes me take a star off my rating. The menu was original and interesting. Firstly, the mix and match chairs and tables are great but with so uncomfortable. When I asked the waitress, she quickly supplied me a cushion. We were given some lovely soda bread and butter all on... More

Stayed here for a night and thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere is cosy, the staff are very attentive, the food was delicious and the room was very comfortable - with proper ground coffee and tea leaves instead of instant muck! All in all a great place with some lovely little touches. Fantastic selection of drinks too. Can't wait to go... More

Really helpful staff who found us a table on a busy lunch time, talked us through the menu and brought some water for our dogs. Food was lovely and we over-indulged. Would definitely go again.

The three of us took lunch here on the 15th January 2017. We arrived a little early but were shown to our smallish table immediately. As we came through the door we were pleasantly surprised to hear live music by a female singer/guitarist a really nice touch. There are plenty of staff here and service is friendly and prompt serving... More

I have eaten here a number of times most recently New Years Eve, always a gamble to eat out at busy times. Not a gamble here superb from our arrival until we left. Food amazing, staff lovely, friendly good but not intrusive service. Can not wait to return.

The Restaurant was full, we had booked for 2pm, the second sitting, yet we were met with a smiling welcome advised our table would be ready shortly, at 2.10 we were invited to move from the bar to our table, our order taken and by 2.30 our delicious starters were served. Impressed by the logistics as despite the place being... More

The exterior of Brecon’s Felin Fach Griffin may be of ‘another country pub’ but step inside and it’s almost as if chintz and row upon row of horse brasses never happened. Boldly coloured walls and plush leather couches sit happily alongside scrubbed wooden tables and chairs and historic beams, but it’s the food that we’re here for…the very food that has critics raving and the awards piling up. Locally sourced ingredients, including a selection from the restaurant’s own kitchen garden, provide a centrepiece for glorious dishes full of imagination. Make the most of melt in the mouth mains and to die for desserts but remember to leave room for the spectacular selection of Welsh cheeses which really make the meal.

The Felin Fach Griffin has won the Best Family Restaurant award for the United Kingdom in the 2008 Good Food Guide.
