The layout of the restaurant is nice and inviting enough for a visit and the food from this restaurant are even nicer for subsequent visit provided the service staffs took heed of customer expectations consciously. I ordered stir-fried minced pork rice with basil leaf and...fried egg, and my Thai tour guide ordered Pad Thai. Both were to be served without chilies. The waiter noted diligently but when the foods arrived, it looked tasty and well made except that it was extremely spicy with both red and green chilies in abundant for the stir-fried minced pork rice. However, we were lucky that the Pad Thai was without chilies and was well made. As I couldn't eat spicy food, I ended up eating Pad Thai and my Thai tour guide eating stir-fried minced pork rice. My Thai tour guide who is used to hot and spicy meal claimed that it was too spicy and he couldn't finish the entire meal. Despite the stir-fried minced pork rice having more than sufficient chilies, the waiter served an additional plate of chilies. We were just wondering where on earth did we ask for an extremely spicy dish and where had it gone wrong. In addition, I have ordered a cold iced lemon tea which is a common drink for any Thai restaurant or cafe to have but didn't see that it was listed in the menu. A little surprised but thought that since it is a common drink in Thailand and the waiter didn't mention that they didn't serve iced lemon tea, I waited in normal anticipation. It took an unusually long time to come but from where I was seated facing the bar counter, I could see the back of waiter and his movement proved to me that he was trying to concoct some kind of delicacy drink that needed special attention. The image of his action was similar in term to a scientist doing some chemical mixture in a laboratory. A kind of strange indeed. When the drink arrived, it didn't taste like iced lemon tea. It was sour, not sweet and it tasted more like red tea served with lemon and ice. My tour guide took a sip and confirmed that it was not the usual iced lemon tea but some kind of red tea mixed with lemon and ice, which was far from the real thing. In general, I believe this restaurant serves good food and if you look at the photos below, it looks appetizing and promising except that if the service staff did it correctly and not overzealous to concoct something out from the ordinary and provided with alternatives from the menu, then I will truly be a satisfied customer and this write-up will be completely different. Will I go back to this restaurant again? I may, if I am around the area, to give it another shot.More
