Visited the River Cafe last week, 29/8, and had lunch. Choice was good, I went for the Triple Club and sat in a window seat to watch the world go by. Sandwich was really great, lots of chicken and bacon (more that I'd put in...at home myself), lettuce and tomato were crisp and fresh. A good choice. Other lunches looked equally good around me. Place was busy but service was quick, friendly and efficient. I'll be back.More

Great little cafe where those with allergies can enjoy a breakfast or lunch. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Food is reasonably priced and offers value for money.

Stumbled across this place while travelling towards Waterford. A great find. Ample free parking outside. The staff were really friendly and chatty. Had poached egg on lovely brown bread and a pot of tea. Superb

I meet with friends here most weeks. Coffee great. Breakfast always delicious and my favourite wra a Cajun wrap. Staff very friendly. Always a delight to be there

Usually go somewhere else when in Kilcullen but decided to give this spot a try. We had heard good thing about the coffee from a friend that lives locally. First impressions weren't great. We popped in at lunchtime. The floor was a bit untidy with...crumbs under the table. The windows looking out on the road were absolutely filthy. It wouldn't take a whole lot to keep on top of them. The interior walls I thought were a bit drab and cold looking. More use of colour in the area would help. Staff friendliness needs to be improved. They need to be warmer and more welcoming to bring it to the next level. Saying all that the food was delicious. The coffees were really good, as was recommended to us. We got sausage rolls and a scone for our little one. It was the tastiest sausage roll I've ever had. Really meaty with good balance of pastry The almond scone was very tasty also. A bit of cream, as standard, with the jam would've knocked it up to top level. When going up to pay though they had no docket system with the food written down that I could hand over. I was trying to remember who had what, different coffees, drinks etc. A bit time consuming. A tad pricey too I thought but it was a post Xmas treat for us so no real complaints there. The toilets were acceptable. Quite clean. Nice wallpaper in there. Overall, an poor to average mark for staff friendliness & tidiness versus the price you pay. The only saving grace is the tasty food.More
