We just stopped at this little coffee shop/cafe on our way to Kilkenny from Dublin. Nothing else was open in Kilcullen on a Saturday at 11 am. Food, service, and atmosphere exceeded our expectations. Felt like we had stumbled across a hidden gem. We had...huge breakfasts and coffee and our tab was $14 for both of us!! Great deal. The three levels add a lot of charm and authenticity. Highly recommend!More

A visit in Kilcullen is only complete whe you visit the An Tearmann (the sanctuary) cafe and community. Besides the great food and delicious cakes it is the special atmosphere that makes An tearmann so special. In the community people with disabilities live and work...together with volunteers. All the food is local and organic. Be sure to go through the garden and farm in the back of the cafe to see where all the vegetables are grown and the animals live and enjoy a quiet moment at this special place.More

A lovely coffee shop in Kilcullen with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Not a huge amount of room especially when you arrive with a buggy but the staff are always accommodating. Tasty lunches and snacks

A friendly and courteous service provided here at very reasonable prices. The menu has a home-cooked quality and includes a good mix of meat-based and vegetarian dishes. They bake delicious fruit and savoury scones on the premises which are also available to take away, subject...to availability.More

This is a local café and gift shop set up by the Camphill communities of Ireland, a charitable venture which supports people with leaning difficulties. It is part of a larger venture to the rear of the café which provides accommodation, farming activities, food market...and various other artisan ventures. There is also a nature trail (free) which is highly recommended which we have reviewed separately. Everyone in the café is very friendly and we had breakfast here after staying at the Rooms at Bardon’s next door. Food portions are not particularly large but what was provided was good.More

Just happened to be looking for a bite to eat while out in Kilcullen when we stumbled across this place. It’s small and quaint, serving produce that is grown and farmed within the onsite community who are supporting people with intellectual difficulties. The food was...really good and wholesome. We had homemade soup with beautiful brown bread and a bacon potato & kale main course. Not being hungry when we went in, but we could not but be tempted by the beautiful cakes that were on offer, all home baked, washed down with a nice cup of tea and coffee. The price was really reasomable, the food was good, the surroundings were lovely, and the staff topped it all with a brilliant service. Before we left, we went for a walk along the river through the communities gardens and it was only then that we realized the true value of what was being achieved at An Tearmann. If you are in kilcullen, you have to visit this place.More

An Tearmann is always an experience. You never know who you are going to run into there, nor who will end up serving you. Great for cake, and organic stuff.
