We have visited this small bar/restaurant on numerous occasions over the past eight years, both as a couple and with family or friends. Thoroughly recommend for delicious food, stunning location and warm welcome from the proprietor. Thank you Sandrine!

On a lovely summers day, the seating under the trees in front of the Banana Bar is just paradise. The view over the river Dordogne is stunning. The service is always friendly, and the cuisine, is simple but good, a nice change from the normal Perigord dishes. A wonderful place for families or couples.

Excellent confit de canard. A super proprietor, she speaks Spanish quite well. To our joy. We especially enjoyed the tables outside. We will return to the Banana Restaurant every time we come to Dordogne. Good memories we have of a fine meal, and an outstanding chef/owner.

We stumbled on this place by accident - loved the village and were walking round looking for somewhere for lunch. The tables on the green are perfect, sitting under a huge old tree. We only stopped for a drink and light meal but the food was good - excellent salads. The other diners were all French and enjoying a leisurely... More

We happened to discover Mauzac when staying in the next village.Had seen the reviews for Banana but somehow didn't think it was going to be our sort of place. How wrong can you be!We stopped to have a beer, and we're treated just the same as if we had been having 3 courses. We love France, but we like to relax for a day before we hit the ground running, as we do anywhere we go nowadays. Alain and Byrne, our hosts, had recommended this restaurant and we now know why. It is located in a very sleepy village, by the river Dordogne, and is a little gem. The weather on this trip... More

Discovered by accident whilst cycling, staying near Lalinde. Went back for dinner Saturday 13th Sept and surprised to find it quiet. Had a very good meal so went back again for lunch where we met another couple (who also found it by accident) then back the following Saturday for another evening meal. Everything we ordered was delicious. The owner speaks... More

We arrived in Mauzac on a Sunday evening, and found Banana Bar. We were lucky to be served food as they were close to shutting, but that did not appear to effect the high quality of French food. However, we were left sitting in near darkness finishing our food as it get darker, and no lights were turned up outside... More

Myself, my wife and 2 friends were staying close to Mauzac for a 2-week holiday and discovered this little gem! The food was first class and the owner and her staff could not have been more welcoming, attentive and friendly. I find it staggering that there is a review so negative about this place - I have eaten on restaurants... More

We had dinner three nights in a row and the end of March. We were pleased to find a restaurant open at that time of the year. It was quiet, but the welcome and service were friendly, the food good and nicely presented and we left feeling very much at peace with the world.
