We had reserved for lunch on the occasion of my partner's 60th birthday. On arrival we were shown to a very comfortable waiting area as we were rather early and awaiting another couple. 'Nibbles' were provided and wine ordered - the sommelier attending. On moving to the dining room, we were impressed with the surroundings and the calm and efficient... More

We have been visiting this restaurant and hotel for more than thirty years, on and off. It is with considerable anticipation that we visited for lunch, on the Taitinger offer, to find that standards of both food and service just keep on improving. The set lunch menu offered three choices per course. Watching dishes being delivered to other dinners as... More

For a treat we stayed at the hotel and dined there for two night (both with the excellent table d'hote menu). It has all the characteristics you'd expect from a top restaurant: excellent service; wonderfully flavoursome an inventive - but not gimmicky - food; great wines, including local high-quality still and sparkling. Recommended.

For a special occasion, this is the place to head for amazing food, wonderful service and terrific surroundings. This Elizabethan Manor exudes luxury and history but still remains comfortable and welcoming. The menu's not cheap, but it's terrific value for money and the service is top-notch, second to none. Everything about Gravetye Manor is excellent! Visit and be spoiled, you... More

Although i have lived within 10 miles of Gravetye Manor all my life i had not been before. On arrival you are faced with a beautiful old manor house, the sort that could be the set of an Agatha Christie whodunit. Throughout the building lovely pannelled walls and open fireplaces set a delightful but not too formal atmosphere. The lunch... More

This was a special occasion celebrating a birthday and the staff at Gravetye didn't let us down. Impeccable service with incredible food, the evening couldn't have been better if we had told the staff of our celebration. Yes, it is expensive but when you taste the food and see the standard of service, you realise it is worth every penny.

Three of us dined here, it is a wonderful experience especially the tasting menu with accompanying wine flight. Nothing was too much as we changed one course so we could include the extensive cheese board that was on offer. The ambience and service was first class and this place deserves all the great reviews it gets. I will definitely return... More

A wonderful location, superb, knowledgable and welcoming staff. Superb food, very well balanced, delicate yet flavoursome. We enjoyed some great game, and some wonderful seafood too. Delightful wood fires, snug wooden panels and quality landscape paintings to enjoy. A marvellous experience.

Thank Sara L

From unhurried classical dining in our atmospheric wood panelled restaurant to leisurely lunches in the garden, from traditional Afternoon Teas to our very reasonable Table d’Hote menu – we hope to delight and enchant with our food regardless of the occasion. We are incredibly fortunate to have a one acre walled kitchen garden, which during the summer months provides 95% of all fruit and vegetables we use in the kitchen, assuring you of the very freshest ingredients.

"We have an exceptionally talented team in the kitchen who are very keen to keep ingredients as fresh and local as possible. Dishes will change as often as is practical and will offer something new to try regardless of how often our guests dine with us. I look forward to inviting you into our restaurant at an exciting time to try, what I firmly believe to be, some of the most honest and delicious food in food in the area." Executive Chef – Rupert Gleadow
