The friendly but incompetent served large, flavour less but expensive serves. Old school Chinese restaurant with no atmosphere and no hidden gems. Maybe lunch is better but dinner was bad

We went for lunch in 6 people so we would be able to taste more dishes ( dumplings, chicken feet, tendons , salt and pepper squid , more dumplings steamed or fried ) and the experience was really good.We compared the quality of the dishes from this restaurant with the ones from China Town and we were pleasantly surprised with... Review: Golden Unicorn, Maroubra. after not visiting here for a few years it was a pleasant surprise to see that they'd renovated with a swish update. The tired old rickety stairs to the restaurant were gone and on entering the restaurant the space was clean looking and modern. It wasn't very busy being mid week. The service was friendly enough... I found this place whilst doing a search on Google, but was always a bit afraid of coming here because I didn't know anyone who had been. Gave it a shot twice this month and liked it. It's almost a mini version of the Golden Century restaurant in Chinatown. Fish tanks with crab, lobster and fish greet you at the... More

Dropped in for a quick lunch on New Year's Eve. The restaurant was quite busy but the food came out fast with many different varieties of dumplings and delicacies. All quite tasty, try the chicken feet which were tasty and plump. Not cheap but not expensive we spent $124 for five people and didn't hold back on the food. Definitely recommend

We hadn't done a yum cha meal before, where staff come around with trolleys of food and you choose your options. Needless to say, some food hit the spot and some didn't. The calamari was a particular strength, and it was all done relatively quickly. Price probably about right for what it was.

We ordered pointing to the weekly special menu and the supervisor took the order promptly without cautioning anything. Upon settling the bill, they said that the weekly special menu is no longer valid as they are sold out therefore the price shall be based on the normal menu. The food was not bad but we ended leaving the place with... More

This a typical 'Australian Chinese' restaurant. The staff are aloof and they are pushy. There are some nice dishes but its pricey. If you want Chinese, go to Kingsford!

Overall, very good dinner with my family. Very good service. Enjoyed the Peking Duck with pancakes and 2nd course Sung Choi Bao. Best stirred fried pork chops with Peking sauce in Sydney. Perfect if there was no hole in the pancake. Er fu noodle with Fish Roe was 75100. Like the new decor with warm and bright colours, especially the... More

The food was expensive and not at all generous, and the quality of the dishes we had was poor by Sydney/East Sydney standards (except for the stock used for the combination short soup, which was good). When we were asked about the food before paying, we mentioned the dried out, tough chicken, and the response was to 'try something else... More
