We read the reviews which were excellent. We went to the restaurant and were told it had been closed for awhile. We verified this with other friends in Lusignano, a nearby town.

My husband and I were lucky enough to eat here for our Christmas dinner. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere even better! We felt like part of the family. So welcomed!

It seems to me that Giancarlo got mixed up with some Groupon madness. This makes me sad because I've never been treated so well in my life. Great food made with passion. Great service. The grounds and restaurant decorated with Giancarlo's artistic flair. Reasonably priced. Generous portions. Giancarlo gave me a jar of honey as I was walking out, no... More

This is the special restaurant and Giancarlo the chef is a very special person. Although difficult to find it is worth the trip. The food is fabulous. Let Giancarlo guide you through a three course meal with a wonderful house wine and you will want to come back as we have every time we go to Tuscany. From entrance to... More

Very special experience. A bit difficult to find but a beautiful entree through the garden. Then within the restaurant beautiful spots wit a collection of all sort of things. A very special wine cellar. The food was excellent. The service OK

On the recommendation of our "Hidden Tuscany" tour guide we made reservations at Lo Steccheto. Upon arriving we looked at each other and asked - is this the place? Let's just say it is a unique, very interesting setting. Rather than try to decipher the menu we put ourselves in Giancarlo's hands - and he had a challenge ahead of... More

I've been at Lo Steccheto for my birthday a couple of days ago, with my family. We booked the "menu online"; it was a 3 courses "all fish menu" with drinks, coffee and desserts included, at an unbelievable cheap price. We arrived at "la bottega" greeted by the lovely waitress who offered us a glass of prosecco and showed us... More

The food here was sublime. We didn't order off the menu but instead had Giancarlo bring out what he thought best. The most memorable part was the salmon, fresh and high quality, sliced very thin and full of flavor. We were there in the winter and the fire going in the hearth along the side of the room filled the... More

I have traveled to Italy many times and the February 2014 trip was my 50th. As a travel specialist of Italy, I have the opportunity to experience many restaurants in Italy and Tuscany in particular. Giancarlo provide a fantastic dining experience by creating dishes using the artistry skills developed over decades. This ristorante is one of those that you can... More
