We were staying locally and fancied a change from carvery and curry. Even on a Thursday night this place was buzzing! Authentic Italian restaurant with Italians eating - always an encouraging sign! The wine was price wise what we expected for the upmarket village location...More

I attended a family birthday party for a large number of people. The service was friendly, helpful and efficient, and the food was beautiful. Definitely worth the trip from Wales :-)

My partner and I have eaten here a number of times now - really quite a few. There are several things that keep us coming back - the staff (Italian and very friendly, helpful, yet still efficient), the value for money (not super cheap but...More

Decent food, nothing fancy though, prices reasonable if the decor is a bit basic and dated. Worth a meal and drink but there are not that many options in datchet. It's ok without being amazing

Oh no, a fantastic restaurant gone. I'm sure we will not be the only ones mourning the loss as we certainly won't be going again. My husband is allergic to cheese,,,!!!

Description
Datchets Piccola Venezia was established in 1998 by a local Italian family determined to offer locals a taste of relaxed Italian holidays close to home. Of great importance to the Piccola Venezia team is the creation of a comfortable, friendly and cheerful ambience, the ideal accompaniment to true Italian food and the kind of welcoming service more usually seen in Venetian trattorias. Classically designed with traditional furnishings and white and terracotta paint, all complemented by attractive paintings of the famous canals and palazzos of Venice, an acceptable second to the real thing. Celebrity customers including Channel 4s Kirsty Allsop and Phil Spencer and actor Stephen Tompkinson have given Piccola Venezias food their seal of approval alongside locals, and it isnt hard to see why. The mouthwatering dishes of Italian favourites, including pizzas, are prepared using quality ingredients selected for their fresh flavour and authenticity, whatever the occasion there really is a dish to suit your needs, not to mention a wine to accompany.
