We called in here Sunday afternoon, We were greeted by a lovely lady, ordered a ham cheese & tomatoe omlette each & a drink, sat at a table with our beer. Our meal arrived rather quickly & we were delighted as it not only looked inviting but was presented really nicely. The chutney that was also on the plate was... More

Enjoyed the food and coffee here when visiting the aircraft museum. Plenty of selection and good from breakfast through to lunch with occasional late meals available.

Room is cold on one side - under the air conditioning and sweltering on the other - next to the windows. No one came to refill our waters, 1 jug, per table of 4 for a whole day. Vegetarian option was a watery salad.

Good menu, great theme. I didn't appreciate the waitress leaving order a the end of the table and calling out "this is yours". Coffee is average.

We use to go to classic flyers often for brunch/lunch but haven't been there for 2 or so years. Went for lunch, the place has really gone downhill. The selection of food was not as good and when we asked what the homemade filo had in it, the young girl looked confused as to why we would ask. There was... More

My wife and I decided to stop in and have lunch at AvGas, something we haven't done for quite a while - not likely to do it again in a hurry. Yes they were fairly busy but there was no excuse for forgetting my wife's meal a salad described as a Thai chicken noodle salad (we know Thai food quite... More

As a stand alone item I felt this should be considered just an average café. It has nice staff, pretty good looking menu cooked to a middle of the road standard, and nothing really for or against. To me it really comes in to its own if you plan it as a combined item with a visit to the museum... More

Must against my better judgement, I was persuaded by a friend to re- visit this establishment, last reviewed in Feb 2016. Same disappointing end result !! My order was simple , a medium Mocha, his a little more comprehensive - a flat white and a 'pancake stack' . We eventually found an outside location that was not totally covered in... More

Good parking and nice area to eat outside. Food is alway good but this time they forgot my order. I will go back again but the service needs to improve.

The friendly greeting from the staff as we came in and the smiling, chatty business people coming down the stairs from a breakfast meeting was a great first impression. Came here to eat and view the huge variety of planes as a recommendation from my fussy daughter who had the best hot chocolate and great time overall. I had the... More

Classic Flyers Cafe is absolutely unique in New Zealand as it forms an integral part of a very interesting aircraft museum dedicated to New Zealand Aviation history. The Cafe itself is large with a delicious selection of cabinet food ready to go, and you can either sit inside amongst Aviation memorabilia or out in the sunny courtyard. There is also a menu available for breakfast and lunch dishes. There are several stylish and comfortable function rooms available with professional on-site catering, making Classic Flyers the perfect destination for any sort of functions, celebrations or conferences. These function rooms are varied in size and can seat guests numbering from 10 to 400+ and the closeness to Tauranga airport means that any out-of-town guests flying in from other centres, can simply walk over to Classic Flyers which is situated a short stroll away. Children's birthday parties are popular here at Classic Flyers with the opportunity for the children to enjoy a birthday spread provided by the Cafe, and then a chance to explore the Aviation Museum. Under supervision, children have the opportunity to climb into one of the small restored planes and have their photo taken, a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many and making a very enjoyable and different birthday celebration.
