As always with good restaurants, I hesitate to share this info. We arrived late on Palm Sunday, a BIG no-no. Too many Baustelle! (Must plan for this next time.) I wish I lived in Lauterbourg so I could eat there every day. The Bouchee a la Reine was superb. Königspastete X 4 ! The Canard a l'orange looked good too.... More

Excellent food and ambiance. Well presented and although it was very busy we did not need to wait long for our food. Staff was very attentive and without asking they served our 5 year old daughters food with our starter. Portions are generous and very very very tasty. Absolutely fabulous

Since more than 20 years, I am a guest of the Vieux Moulin. The family running the restaurant is very friendly and the service is as friendly as your mother at home. Very warm-hearted place. Beside that the food is typically for the Elsac region. You will have to try the tarte flambe. Also the outside sitting is beautiful in... More

We ate here during a very hot lunchtime during August. Meals were served on a covered terrace. The menu is wide ranging but the salads are very good (especially in the hot weather). Service was not the fastest but the restaurant was very busy. There is a wide range of local specialities available along with a great local wine list.... More

We stayed nearby for 2 weeks on holiday from Dorset, England, UK. We enjoyed meeting up here with friends who live in Germany. The atmosphere and service was great. We enjoyed the local cuisine of flammkuchen: basically very thin pizza type base with toppings. We had several types and shared them. They were approx €9 each, a little expensive for... More

Good simple food, with friendly service. We had a set Menu of 16 Euro's and it was very decent for its value.

Au Vieux Moulin in the north of the Alsace, just 20km from Karlsruhe is a great restaurant if you want to try traditional food from the Alsace in style. The menu covers local cuisine, including Flammkuchen, Spätle, cheval (which was delicious in red wine sauce), Paté, onion soup etc. The wine list is extensive and the bilingual (French and German)... On the recommendation of colleagues in Ettlingen/Karlsruhe, we crossed the French border for dinner at this traditional Alsatian restaurant. Directions are somewhat required for this place, because it is tucked in the back of what appears to be a relatively new housing estate. The décor is decidedly alpine - and although there are undoubtedly geographical subtleties lost on me, it... More

I've been traveling to this restaurant (25 min drive) for five years now. There are many restaurant choices here in Karlsruhe but sometimes I just want some really good Flammkuchen, and this restaurant delivers every time. I've had Flammkuchen at many different places but Au Vieux Moulin has the best, hands down. In fact, it's so good I've never bothered... More

This restaurant is so close to Karlsruhe. They have a large and impressive menu and wine list. The French onion soup was delicious. I had scallops with vegetables - wonderful! The waiter was attentive and funny - even though I don't think he intended to be. At times he reminded me of Garrison Kieller and Cafe Boeff. The restaurant was... More
