We love the quiet, drumlin landscape around crook and are pleased that the Sun Inn at Crook is back to its best after a being disappointed a few years ago. We had a great meal 2 families of 4, everyone very happy with their food, great beer and reasonable prices and lovely traditional pub surroundings. The barmaid who also waited... More

Came here for dinner and had a good meal. Party of 4 and we were well looked after. A few dishes on the menu not available which was a bit disappointing. Portions were large so good value but steaks were slightly over cooked. Not that busy for a Friday night but I can imagine this place being very busy when... More

I had the Ploughmans which was massive and really good quality meat and cheese. Wife had the Bacon and Brie hot roll with chips and mother in law had... More

I dropped in for some lunch as I haven't been in for a few years. The new management have done a great job of the decor and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. They gave us a blanket for the dog to sit on, brought drinks to the table and the steak was done perfectly! The proprietor Pauline was really... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our Monday lunch. Both had special's, liver and lamb, and drink's of which my wife was recommended the "peculiar" light ale which she thoroughly enjoyed. Mine host was very attentive and the food was to die for. Highly recommended. Pity there is not a higher score than 5.

Pies with real shortcrust pastry!! Just as my other half says, the pies here were truly wonderful. The staff were very pleasant and attentive, the food was good and a decent pint of real ale always helps the cause. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to The Sun Inn and we will certainly return when next in the area.

Thank you for your review, hope you enjoyed your cheese later on. We always have a doggy bag option, portion sizes can be on the larger size but we want to ensure you enjoy and feel value for money, and sometimes would love that pudding but cant just finish it so whats better than taking it home for later. We... More

We have been going to the Lakes for the past 15 years, and the highlight of our journey was to have lunch at the Sun Inn. We decided to visit the Lakes after the New Year, following a 2 year break due to illness. We thought it would be great to visit the Sun Inn, as we always have. Sadly... More
