First, but definitely not the last , visit here. Very welcoming, friendly staff. No loud intrusive background music which made me very happy. Warm comfortable surroundings. Service was excellent. Food was fabulous. We had catch of the day, battered fish and prawns with big fat chips, and Chinese spiced chicken noodles. Clear plates all round. The pecan pie was delicious.... More

I revisited the Tannery with my mother-in-law who is in a wheelchair. When we arrived, a ramp was put down at the side door allowing easy access into the Bistro. I last reviewed the Tannery in Dec 2016, and since then the food has got even better. The staff were great, the service was flawless, the food was fantastic and... More

We were there recently for my husband's 'big' birthday. It was a surprise party and the staff were so good at helping with all the preparations. We had a set party menu which helped to control costs. The service was discreet and very efficient. We were in the Chop House section of the building. It was just the right size... More

Visited The Tannery last night for my husbands birthday. We were seated upstairs and handed menus, one of which was filthy and taken back by the server who said he would return with a new one. He never did, had to ask another member of staff for a second menu. Got the menu, ordered a bottle of wine, he ordered... More

Called in recently at lunchtime and had reason to complain about the portion size of a £13.95 special. It was what I would of expected of a starter (or kids) sized portion of the actual meal I ordered. Never got the chance to voice my concerns during the meal as they were so understaffed that no one came near us... More

Normally we eat in the bistro area at the Tannery but a group of 13 had dinner in the restaurant on saturday 1 April for an annual get together. We had booking for 6.30 and were leaving at 10pm! This is NOT a complaint as it was lovely to be able to relax and chat to our friends without feeling... More

Visited here for Sunday lunch started well staff very attentive, However once you are served your main meal it's very difficult to catch the attention of the staff for anything you need they are literally like lost herd, and £7.95 for a large glass of wine is too much for me...

I've been several times for lunch and dinner and it's a real meat eater's paradise. The service is excellent, but the only thing I would say is going on a busy night slows service quite a bit. On one occasion the dessert we'd ordered was forgotten about, but the staff quickly apologised and knocked the price of a drink each... More
