One of my most favourite restaurants appears to be no long in operation. It will be missed by so many people. Lets hope somebody will reopen it soon.

We were lucky enough to secure a table for New Years day. More lucky than we realised when upon arrival we were told it was the last day they were to be open for a while. Having dined at the Bulls Head before, we were welcomed back like old friends. Happy to accommodate two pugs under the table and three... More

After walking six miles from Hay to get there this provided some excellent restaurant food and a variety of good bottled beers and ciders. It had a warm cosy atmosphere, a true old English pub which hadn't been spoiled by modern renovations. Although we hadn't booked the hostess was very friendly even offering to recharge our mobile phone for the... More

4 sensible and sober adults called by for a lunchtime drink today ( Boxing Day) -the sign on the gate and the door clearly stated the pub was open from 12-3pm. Pub had approx. 15 people in it and no one at the bar. There was no pleasantries or a festive welcome in sight. Before we had chance to order,... More

We visited the The Bull's Head after an absence of 5 years and were surprised to discover that, and I quote, this 'unique dining pub' does not sell draft beer or any type of snacks. It was disappointing to find nothing but bottled drinks especially in an area that has many excellent beers. In the absence of crisps, nuts or... More

We were part of a party of 9 that had booked for lunch, we arrived just before the main party and I went to the bar to get drinks. After waiting 5 minutes at the unattended bar I was informed by a local that they do not serve draught beer, all drinks are from a bottle. I was charged £8.50... More

Like other reviewers we visited The Bull's Head after reading Matthew Norman's review in 'The Telegraph'. The journey there is not for the faint-hearted. Our sat nav went on the blink as we approached the Welsh borders and the absence of signposts and the narrow roads made it quite a nervy experience. Even when you arrive, it's not really clear... After reading a review earlier this year in The Telegraph by Matthew Norman the restaurant critic we decided to visit. When our relatives came to stay this weekend we decided to book Sunday lunch. After a spectular drive through Herefordshire countryside with very narrow lanes and too few signs showing directions to Craswell where The Bulls Head is situated we... More

It's Sunday and we've just returned from an amazing time in the wilds of Herefordshire. Yes we've been for Sunday lunch, but not your typical roast. Not a roast in sight or chips, how refreshing. This old and characterful pub/restaurant will keep you entertained and talking about it for some time afterwards. We've never been anywhere like it. The gardens... More

Don't bother making the effort unless you have booked a table. Having told friends about this place we dropped by but were turned away. No effort was made to accommodate us and the place was not bursting. I have been there before (having contacted them in advance) and found it excellent. This recent experience was VERY different. I would say... More

Description
Charles and Kathryn welcome you to The Bull's Head, Craswall, their unique dining pub in the spectacular country of The Black Mountains. Our aim is to offer good food in the informal but warm surroundings of this old drover's inn where through the years little has changed. Bar service is from a 'hole in the wall' to a room furnished with scrubbed top tables and old settles. The restaurant, up a few well worn stone steps from the bar, is also traditionally furnished and has an open log fire to warm you in winter. Old and new friends are welcome to join us for good food, wines and Herefordshire farmhouse ciders.'The Bull's Head in Craswall, one of the best rural pubs in Britain with great food', Owen Sheers, The Daily Telegraph''A wonderful idiosyncratic pub (..) is The Bull's Head at Craswall, with very good food', Fiona Duncan, The Sunday Telegraph'The Bull's Head, an eccentric and magnificent pub (...) tucked away above a stream in the remote village of Craswall, The Bull's Head is rightly proud of its menu', Oliver Bullough, BA Highlife Magazine
