This cafe is just over an hour from the Picton Ferry and about three quarters of an hour from Nelson. It is set in a tranquil grassy, treed setting and the food is very good. Whole place is scrupulously clean, food well presented, and they serve a roast dinner with 'old-fashioned puddings' on a Sunday. Sounds very good but we... More

We called into this cafe while driving home from Nelson & were a bit disappointed with the limited range of meals available. They were more suited to evening dining with not much selection for a light lunch. The meals were very 'old school' in presentation & my quiche was just heated in a microwave & was a little soggy on... More

We stopped in today, a rainy stormy afternoon, they had a very welcoming log fire going and some rather nice classical music playing - very atmospheric! the counter food looks and tastes very nice. Homemade pastry was the base for my custard tart and it was beautifully presented. The service was lovely and the outlook just stunning setting in amongst... More

We have driven by this spot countless times on trips between Nelson and Blenheim, so decided to drop inn for a coffee stop on the way to the ferry in Picton. What a pleasant surprise! Service was excellent from a very nice couple, coffee was excellent, and food great as well. I understand that this spot was a former forestry... More

This is a good place to break a journey and enjoy a restful drink and snack. It is clean and tidy. The menu is varied and there is a range of cabinet foods available. Good parking and friendly staff.

Having stopped here for lunches on previous occasions we decided to call in for a coffee on our way home from Nelson We were met with a friendly greeting and then ordered our coffees and decided to share a freshly baked scone with jam and cream. This was absolutely delicious, light and fluffy just like a good scone should be.... More

I led a group of 33 from Stoke Social Seniors, Nelson to lunch at the Foresters today. The roast lamb and vegetables followed by the fruit crumble and ice cream was delicious. The hospitality and friendliness of the owners was top class. I would highly recommend.

Located in a park-like setting with an abundance of trees is a delight. The complex has some motels, a conference facility and a very warm sunny restaurant with friendly & obliging staff. The menu tends toward an English theme. Why not? the operators are from Yorkshire a similarly delightful part of the UK. So enjoying nicely prepared meats or fish... More
