This is a lovely spot nestled in hills overlooking Oyster Pond and Atlantic Ocean on the French side. Lunch was nice enough: Salad Nicoise and beef brochettes and a couple glasses of rose. Very pleasant server. Worth a try if you are in the area.

8 of us chartered a catamaran out of the Sunsail Marina in Oyster Pond. Le Planteur was our destination for dinner before we headed out on the seas the next day. As it was mid-week it was not crowded so we easily had a nice table for 8. The setting is beautiful though we couldn't take full advantage of the... More

This restaurant had parking and took credit cards which is what prompted us to stop. We were the only people there which made me nervous but we liked the menu choices so we decided to try it. We're glad we did! The host/waiter was kind, informative, and helpful. The wine menu had lots of options including by the glass and... More

We have been here many times in visiting St. Martin. We have never been disappointed. We went on a slow day, so the restaurant wasn't busy. The owner has been there a long time and typically does everything but cook. I am OK with that, as it makes for a good experience. Food, drinks and desserts were all great. We... More

Perched atop a hill overlooking Oyster Pond, this very attractive blue and white decorated resturant appeals to you immediately. The French owner, who move to the island 29 years ago because he 'loves it' is the perfect host...attentive...warm...friendly... and a good sense of humor. The food is creative and delicious, with an interesting combination of French and Creole dishes. The... More

We were here Christmas Eve and had an outstanding meal. I had the Lamb and my wife had the duck. Everything was wonderful. We returned again Christmas day. My wife ordered the lamb because mine had been so good the day before. This time there was NO sauce, instead of the beautiful vegetables from yesterday there were microwaved soggy mixed... More

We were warmly welcomed by the owner, a transplant from France's Massif Centrale 29 years ago. Our dining experience was refined and classic, with a touch of Creole.

We ate here last year and had a great meal so we returned here this year but were very disappointed. The food was just so-so. My scampi were tough and tasted as if they were frozen and just heated up and my husband had the conch stew which was just adequate, really not great. The location is perfect at this... More

We are sailors, renting a boat from The Moorings, down the hill from Le Planteur. We first discovered the restaurant in 2005, returned again in 2007, and again in 2016, two weeks ago. This time, we ate at this charming restaurant twice; first before our departure and again upon our return from sailing. Gerard, our host, was super-cordial, as always.... More

We stumbled on this place by accident. We were staying in the area and were trying to decide on dinner. The host was gracious, and the food quite good, but the sauces on the meat made the meal. I had duck while my wife had monk fish, both were delicious and the sides (one was a mix of pumpkin and... More
