With a small toboggan it's a great option for kids for diner. Regarding the food, it's way less tasty than the alternative option on the other side of the road.

We had lunch here in September and the view of the White Mountains from our table was stunning. Food was excellent and lots of it, and prices very reasonable. Very child friendly, with toys around for them to play with.

After visiting the Aptera ruins, we were in desperate need of refreshment from the high temperature that day! We stumbled across this wonderful family restaurant. The food was delicious and the views were out of this world, Sue was a wonderful hostess we were so sad we couldn't join you for the Cretan dancing on the Saturday night, I'm sure... More

My husband and I have just returned from a 14-night honeymoon in a villa very near to The Cretan Corner. We came back here numerous times, on account of the food being absolutely delicious and full of flavour. Of particular mention has to be be the saganaki prawns (out of this world), the village sausages and the lamb ribs. Also,... More

The restaurant serves traditional food but with a degree of polish. The restaurant is spacious with great views across the valley to the mountains in the south. Sue (who is English) is very welcoming and chats with the diners. The meals were very tasty, using local produce (why wouldn't you!) and everything tasted fresh. We particularly liked the meat balls... More

Every time we are in the area, we dine at Cretan Corner. This time we managed to fit in a lunch, a Cretan Dancing evening and a special evening to celebrate my wife's birthday. As ever, the hospitality was wonderful and the food excellent. There is a daily slate-board menu in addition to the printed menu and it often includes... More

We are staying in a small villa up in the hills of Aptera and came down to the village for something to eat. There is a collection of around three or four small tavernas of which this is the biggest. The atmosphere in the square on a weekend is nice. We were attracted by the range of dishes available at... More

The Cretan Corner taverna is in Apterna on Crete. It had wonderful views over the distant mountains from its large balcony. The owners wife is British and very friendly. The food is very good, I had Sea Beam which was so good that I had the same again two days later. On Saturday nights they have a Cretan dance evening.

We visited this place in the afternoon after a visit to Aptera, everyone was thirsty and a little hungry. We chose this place on the spur of the moment and it didn't disappoint , we chose the Tapa's/meze style platter for four of us and it was delicious . The service was very friendly and we would definitely recommend it... More

We visited this place on a Friday night and it was lovely- we went early so got a choice of seats, the food is easily the best we have had since being in Crete. My only disappointment was the highchair that was provided, it was FILTHY, even after 5 minutes of scrubbing with baby wipes I still chose not to... More
