We had afternoon lunch Easter Sunday here and thought it was marvellous. A family of 5 with 3 boys aged 5 - 10 we were enthusiastically welcomed by an accommodating landlord and we remarked what a rarity this was these days and how nice it was. The food was superb - and we ate every bit. Beef Sunday roast and... More

Been here a few times because my sister lives in Farthinghoe. The staff here are always welcoming. There is a nice garden out the back for kids to run around in. It is a good pub to take kids to as they are always welcome. I have not eaten here for a while but the food seems popular and last... More

We've been coming to the Fox for the last 18 months and every time we've come we're never disappointed. Their pub classics are the best around. The fish & chips are amazing the best mushy peas I've tasted. Really tasty home made beef & ale pie. Stick with the classics and you won't be disappointed. Always friendly. Nice country pub.... Our friend raves about this place so we tried it out as we usually eat out regularly and have got to know the best places to eat. Ordered a 7.50 pate. This arrived as more a cold sausage meat loaf with black pudding running through it. Nothing like pate whatsoever. Not spreadable. Tasted awful and not I expected. Then arrived... More

We popped in to have lunch at The Fox as it was halfway between home and a match our son was playing in and it proved to be an excellent choice. Lovely food, great staff who were friendly and a laugh as well as efficient and just a lovely environment. I wish we lived nearer to go back regularly.

This is more a gastro pub. The food is really good as is the service. The village is tiny and the Fox tucked away. It's a place worth finding. Booking is a must. This is a very popular place.

We used to visit The Fox at Farthinghoe often but we felt it went "off" and had lost its way. I had heard that things had improved and so we visited for lunch and, although the food was ok, we felt that it was very overpriced (just under £12.00 for macaroni cheese) and lacked atmosphere. What also didn't help was... More

As a party of 8, we were asked to pre-order our mains and starters. When requesting advanced details of "specials" (eg the nature of the Pie listed on the menu) the response was "I don't know yet" which was rather less than helpful; having pre-ordered, we had anticipated a somewhat slick service, but sadly meals came out in batches, there...
