Three of us called in for lunch and ordered ham sarnies with shared chips . The whole thing was historic, thick slices of home cooked ham which melted in the mouth, great bread, lovely mixed salad, coleslaw and pickles. The chips were great and we washed it down with 2 bottles of excellent Pinot Grigio rose. The total bill was just under 41 pounds-... More

Called in the other night while in the area for work, hoping for a couple of pints and dinner. They informed me they don't run the full menu in the evening but do a pot of stew which today was chicken, ham and sausage. Served with crusty bread, it was a great meal, absolutely full of meat and veg. I... More

This the third time I've been and it was great. I had pie my friend had gammon! Both were great quality and large portions. The sandwiches looked great too!! Great value too! Small brewery ales available! Well worth a visit.

Essential to book for Sunday lunch. Several rooms, three with log fires and a central bar with at least six hand pulled ales. It is cosy inside, but the service was good. The food, primarily roasts on a Sunday, was outstanding. I had roast beef sirloin and the meat was pink and tender, just how it should be - the... More

Sunday lunch. Superb quality at this recently re-opened village pub. Good choice with an Italian twist to the menu. Need to book for Sunday , busy all through the week.

Brilliant village pub. Went for Sunday lunch , beef was very good, beer even better at 2 pounds 50 a pint , very dark and and atmospheric . They brew some of the real ales themselves. One of my favourite pubs ever , and I've been in a few in my time.

Popped in after completing our walk for a well deserved pint! Amazing choice of ales very reasonably priced. Very welcoming atmosphere- log fires, candles on tables and friendly staff. We had our meal already booked at our hotel so did not eat there but the menu looked really interesting with lots of choice at good prices. Intend to return when... More

Everything we read was exactly how we felt after visiting The Bay Horse this lunchtime. It has a superb atmosphere, intriguing decor, nooks and crannies; candles and a number of crackling log fires providing that beautiful scented smell of wood burning; superb menu and delicious food accompanied by a range of real ales; friendly and pleasant staff; the ambiance is... It's a real old fashioned pub, the beer is excellent. (some at £2.50 pint too). Their other pub has a micro brewery, so what remains to be said? They have a selection of guest ales to try as well. Food is basic and comes in huge quantities, but the quality is there. Log fires, hanging paraphernalia throughout and friendly staff.
