Nice spot and quite warm welcome....but.....sloppiest blandest lasagne I've ever had. Just a puddle really. Beer fine.

A very welcoming and friendly pub in the small village of Bishopsbourne. The menu was limited but contained something for all tastes. Well used by the locals for meals which is always a good sign.

Use to visit this lovely little pub fairly regularly a few years ago and have happy memories, decided to pop in lunch recently - wish we hadn't bothered. The landlady made us feel as welcome as a batch of Japanese Knotweed at the Chelsea Flower Festival (while appearing to give almost sycophantic attentiveness to a tiny group of plum-voiced locals... I do sometimes wonder if the reviewers have eaten in the same place or are out to destroy the reputation of a great pub. This is a pub not a hotel and offers excellent pub grub in our case a cheese ploughmans with excellent local cheeses. consistently good high quality food. Sadly the current tenants are going to retire in... More

18/12/2016. Wonderful friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Nineteen warmly welcomed for Sunday lunch, including two tots. Two adults with special dietary requirements accommodated with no fuss. A little cramped but this is a pub. Excellent service. The food arrived promptly and hot. This is a pub (yes, I have repeated myself) but the food was of first class restaurant quality. Fine dining... More

This pub is ok for a drink, and the beer is Shepherd Neame from Faversham , usually two available. The food used to be good but now is dire, unacceptable! Shame.

Popped in a couple of weeks ago for a pint and some lunch. Beer okay and food reasonable, felt out of place not being a 'local'. Landlady could turn milk sour and whatever you do don't place anything on the piano.....no warm welcome here.

OK, must be honest here as this is my local but it is a great pub and I am lucky to live in the village with such a watering hole. Great food, well kept beer and a good wine list. No juke box or fruit machines, just a proper pub

We loved the menu ( simple but very appealing fare) it arrived in perfect time, they changed my dressing on a Summer Salad as requested, no chips ( perfect) ice cream & coffee in the garden. Friendly & welcoming staff - highly recommended 💕❤️

Had the good fortune to go there for a pub lunch last weekend. We shared a cheese ploughmans as we were not that hungry. The cheeses were delicious as was the chutney that came with it. Beer was Whitstable Bay pale ale so I was in heaven! Already looking forward to our next visit!
