I always enjoy going to La Grotta. The food is fresh, service is great and the whole atmosphere in the restaurant makes it must visit if you are in the neighborhood.

Guido, the proprietor of ristoramte La Grotta, is a real character. He greets you loudly as a long-lost friend. His restaurant is almost always full because he serves good, fresh food in a bustling environment. The prices are very reasonable. Last year I was altegader enthusiastic about Guido's Mom and Pop restaurant. This year even more. Very fresh ingredients, fresh fish perfectly grilled and cooked. Prices have gone up slightly but sophistication more. still a trattoria but a sophisticated one.

This is Italian food at it's best: simple, tasteful and honest. No dufficult or expensive ingredients or a plate where you wonder what it actually is. You recognize and smell the food and it is what it is. Food where the locals come for.
