Great food, helpful and professional staff, pleasant atmosphere. We enjoyed the local specialties. It is totally worth trying at least once. Seems like a good place for larger groups too.

The restaurant serves traditional Slovak food, roast goose. The food, the service and the environment are amazing. However, the price is absolutely unreasonable. We paid a total of 446 EUR for 7 people (6 adults and 1 child). This price is extremely high by Slovak...standards. The paradox is mainly the price for a 1.5 liter jug of clean water = 9 EUR.More

Well, its hard review this place, since almost everything worked out well - the place, staff and food - all was good and i would rate this restaurant with 5 stars, if the price was 60% of what we paid. I am fond gastronomic tourist...and have lot of ecperience from fine restaurants from slovakia and europe. I was in UFO, in Afrodita Cerenany, in Sissy(hotel lomnica), and many good restaurants in Italy, Spain and over europe. But i feel, this was most overpriced place for the value, which i ever visited. I know goose is not cheap and quality has its price, but come on, water with sirup and 2 pieces of lemon for 9 euro ? In slovakia ? Maybe its normal in Grob (i didnt visit other places for some time), since village is very popular for roasted goose, but overally the price level at this place is something you would expect in almost michelin starred restaurant, for degustation 5 course dinner. And even if all was fine, this is not something extraordinary - its not served flambee, its not from tartufo etc. Its just local specialty.More

I never realised how delicious goose was. In fact I’d categorise it as by far the most tasty bird. Of course the calorie consumption is very high due to the fact goose is fatty. Anyway, this restaurant is a must especially if you need to...impress business partners for something different .More

The main feature about the Goose served at this restaurant is that it is free range from “our own farm”, etc. There are even photographs of the owner Boris Hasko holding one of the geese. All sounds good except it’s a complete mis-conception. The Geese...are from a factory farm in Hungary. They are prepared, heavily salted and arrive at this restaurant sealed in plastic packaging. Not exactly the Farm Fresh that is advertised and appears in the photographs around the restaurant.More

I am Slovak but living abroad most of my life. I visited with a friend who had never had goose feast. He found it absolutely delicious, which indeed it was but let’s say the truth. Most of the restaurants in Slovensky Grob have a delicious...menu. HOWEVER, us Slovak are famous for our horrible service in gastronomy. Now Lukas gave us the best service I have ever had in Slovakia, he was not too much but yet cared about every detail, he was a gentleman, decent, but friendly and relaxed at the same time. Always had one eye on our table if i turned around to him he reacted straight, but wasn’t coming every 2 minutes to ask if everything was all right either. He Acted like a Mishellin star waiter with the more laid back attitude. He made our stay really perfect, he cared about every detail and made us feel absolutely welcome. The interior is very cozy, loved the bathroom design😅🙈 lol. Big big thank you! To all and the chefs too!!!More

Our extended Slovakian family brought us here to experience what their town is famous for Goose! Relaxed family atmosphere where many of the tables had children with them, including ours. Food was served family style from soup to goose liver, roasted goose, potato pancakes and...red cabbage. Leftovers ( and there are plenty) are packaged to go. Be prepared to be fed!More

restaurant is located in a village near Bratislava (ca. 50min by car). We had our dinner quiet early, but it was full. I guess the people are eating there 24h! without reservation you will have to wait... and this outside, during autumn is quite cold......so make a reservation! anyway, we had baked goose with Lokše (Slovak potato flatbread) and steamed red cabbage. it was by far, the best goose I have ever eaten. and the extremely friendly, professional and attentive staff, made our experience the best of our vacation! it was sooo delicious! I am still dreaming today about this great food! we could not eat everything and they put the leftovers in a doggy-bag (quite common there, we were not the only ones). fortunately, so I could remember this great meal another time at our home ;-) the prices are certainly higher, but this is also not a usual location were you go every day.More

Be prepared to run a marathon the next next after eating here, plus have your Lipitor pills handy. The food is delicious but dangerously fattening. Have this in mind. If your fine with all this it’s a nice ride in a lovely town outside of...Bratislava . The restaurant is in an old traditional house with employees serving you Traditional outfits and service way above average. Simply they need more personnelMore

Sunday late lunch, my wife and I decided to have some goose as autumn is starting at Slovensky Grob, a village near Bratislava (by the way, the best place to eat geese with many local restaurants preparing geese specialties). We decided to try this new...place for us “Gurmansky Grob”. We started with a goose clear soup (broth style) and it was excellent! We followed with a goose liver (served warm) accompanied with local white bread (fluffy one) and pickled cucumbers, cabbage and paprika. OMG, was it good.... We ended our lunch with baked goose with “lokse” (a typical slovak potato-flower pancake) and steamed red cabbage. The whole lunch we felt like taking part at the opera. Fantastic. The only thing I missed was a bottle of a good wine! Next time I will not drive while going to eat goose lunch...:-).More

This place is in the middle of nowhere. We went with a tour guide who reccomended it. And she was right. Very ethnic and true Slovakian. My husband said the goose soup reminded him of meals at his grandmother's house. Service was great, very friendly...in spite of the language barrier. The lotke & red cabbage was terrific.More
