Many disappointments unfortunately. Very poor table service, had to request that the tables be cleared on sitting after watching the waiter return to the kitchen 3x with an empty tray. Zero smiles throughout. The food was terribly slow and very disappointing. Haloumi burger was dry, Haloumi well overcooked. Salad served with huge chunks of iceberg with only a smattering of... Went for a wedding anniversary dinner, had not been here for some time and were just as happy with the experience as previous occasions. Prompt service, great food, a real Oxford gem.

Gorgeous old villa complete with antique door opens into a clean cafe. The rooms converted into the dining areas. Cold day but the place was lovely and warm. Nice artwork offered for sale. Greeted by a friendly face and left with a coffee and white choc raspberry muffin. Mmmm tasty.

Travelling around Canterbury heard that Oxford was worth a visit. Arrived in time for coffee at spotted Café 51. Lovely old house that has been turned into a café/restaurant. Lovely having the different rooms to set in. The coffee was strong and hot, also had a beautiful lemon curd muffin - delicious. Young girl serving us was delightful.

Friendly smiles, excellent coffee, great tasting food. Greeted with smiles all round coffees came out fast hot and totally delicious. The food was excellent my only gripe was that they substituted something and didn't ask us if it was okay to do that, it's not of course, and that's quite unusual. However due to the high taste of the food... More

I like the fact that they have carpet and curtains - it makes the place quieter! There is space outside for dogs and children . If you ring prior to going they can open the gate into the garden for wheelchair access.

I have been there several times and have liked this café particularly for it nice heritage interior and the weatherboard building which looks so inviting. But now I will not visit anymore. Either the owner or chef/baker has changed - or whatever. Anyway, the last offerings we had were dreadful, particularly my raspberry chocolate muffin. I didn't think you can... More

Stoped in for lunch on route to Hanmer Springs after reading the reviews. Our meals were all freshly cooked and nicley presented. Under 6s mini hot dogs were gr8 value at $5 and the half seafood chowder for $11 was really yummy if you wanted a starter or for anyone not hungry, certainly had food envy after tasting it. Lambs...
