Always a good place to eat typical Asturian food.. good atmosphere. Staff very helpful and often very busy..... the chuleton here is fabulous. Portions are big! So beware, but the staff will generally always advise you if you are ordering too much.. Good for groups...also... they will box food up for you if you can’t manage it all, which is good as nobody wants to see good food go to wasteMore

This was a nice restaurant but the quality of the food is not what I am used to in Asturias. The best calamaris I have tasted were in Asturias but the ones served here would not be considered good in Italy. Good Sidra! Maybe I...should have ordered from the grill. The place was full but I’m not sure why.More

Great food, lovely atmosphere, what a pity it was somewhat spoiled by our server who displayed her obvious impatience, with us as we tried to understand the menu, even though one of our party has reasonable Spanish.

Popular restaurant in the center of Nueva, reservation is a must since it gets quite busy. Food is nice, nothing too special.

Great traditional Asturian sideria/restaurant. Good atmosphere, good food, with consistent quality. We have been there many times, and are never disappointed. It can get very busy, due to its popularity among locals and otherwise. Great place to try the traditional Sidra and regional dishes. Very...good value for money. No English spoken really, but they do have menus in English...a great place to go for lunch or a more informal dinner...friendly staff La comida aqui siempre es Buena, ambiente tambien. Muy buen restaurante tradicional de Asturias... es un sitio favourite de nosotros. Jeanette Y ArchieMore

We were taken here by a friend who knew the area well. Very much enjoyed sampling some local specialities such as cachopo. Which we should definately be able to get in England! Beautifully cooked huge steaks cooked on the grill and lovely sea food.

Very authentic Spanish cider house-quirky but not in a naff way. Mainly filled with Spanish customers and not a lot of English spoken by staff but you can get by and they are friendly with it. Menu was in English which was great as it...gave you the chance to really explore what was on offer. We had the pieces of roast chicken which were amazing, potato bravas which tasted really fresh and 'grandmas special' which was a mixed grill affair with a black pudding type slice, chorizo, 2 fried eggs and some other bits (doesn't sound very finessed I know but it tastes good). We were seriously stuffed! Looking at other portion sizes coming out to guests it's the sort of place where one meal would fill you for the day. Lots of people drinking the local cider which was nicely chilled and refreshing. A bargains at around 4euros for a large bottle!More

The place was crowded with people and seemed to be very popular. First it was to drink cider. You had to hold the bottle far away from the glass and pour the cider slowly to create gas in the cider. Most of the food was...meat made on the grill. Different meats such as pork, pasture beef, lamb. Servings were huge. Meat was good and tasty. The place to go if you enjoy meat and cider!More

Tucked away in a back street of Nueva, once voted Asturias' prettiest village, this cider restaurant excels for the quality of its beef, but that's not surprising because the restaurant's owner also breeds the oxen which produces it. You enter the rustically decorated but cosy...dining room through a giant cider barrel and then they sit you down in another to serve you. If you choose one of the steaks from the menu, the chef will bring it to your table for your approval before it gets thrown on an enormous griddle and singed, then brought to you on a very hot terracotta platter, so that you continue grilling it to the “cuisson” you prefer (in fact: carne a la brasa). However, beef is not all that this restaurant has to offer: they do an excellent Fabada as well. The obvious liquid accompaniment is cider, which has to be aerated with a special dispenser brought to your table, for there is little room here for the Asturian “escanciador” to do his typical cider-pouring act. They nevertheless have a good wines. The service is caring and attentive with waiters constantly vigilant to meet every need, and special attention was paid to the presence of Diego, our two-month old grandson, still a bit young to enjoy the beef, but the little bucket of hot water to warm his baby-bottle was brought promptly and without fuss. As a family we have dined altogether here about six times over the past three years, and never has anything disappointed. We strongly recommend Sidreria Muros.More
