Such a disappointing visit its hard to know where to start. Too many concepts promising much, delivering little. Ordered steak to be cooked medium rare - it arrived dry as a bone and seriously lacking in seasoning. Friends were equally let down by their meals - expensive and underwhelming. Feel sorry for the staff as although pleasant lacked direction as... More

I have eaten a few times at the wayfarer and it is always consistent. This time in the conservatory (Italian theme). The breads are delicious and filling. My rib starter was extremely tender and very generous, followed by a sirloin oozing with flavour. The pizzas are also lovely. The menu is varied with all you would expect. The wines are... More

We had a nice meal here last week however it was just average food. The wife enjoyed her pizza but my steak was quite tough for a matured Ribeye. Saying that though we still enjoyed it and the staff were nice and helpful. Price wise for what we had we both thought it was slightly on the high side considering... More

Vistited on a Saturday lunch time for god and a few drinks, both had starters and mains which were very good. One small issue we came on bikes, there is no we're to lock bikes up, management should provide some bike facilities, if any one listens to please do some thing about it. We had to chain ours to a... Decided last minute to pop out for a drink and ended up dinning as well. I had not read about this place but as we drove past I thought let's stop and see what this place has to offer. The entrance strangely is allocated at the back, we walked in to see it was buzzing with customers and afraid as... More

Ordered a coconut curry and got a bad tikka and the rice soggy and tasteless. Also all staff are very slow serving at the bar and it wasn't even busy. We waited 25 min just to get a drink and hour for food so I definitely will not be visiting again.

We've just got back from a thoroughly enjoyable Easter Sunday lunch at the Wayfarer. We generally try and pick somewhere different to eat when we visit family in Ormskirk. This came up as one of the best pubs in the area and we weren't disappointed. The menus were very extensive and although some of the mains were a little on... More

We visited on a relatively quiet day but still the bar area was full with diners. Alternatives of Italian-inspired menu in one restaurant area and British in another. Nice to also see small plates on offer. Excellent beer selection and home brewed beers of exceptional quality; both keg and cask. Superb burger, all food was really well done.

The food [Sunday Lunch] was average in terms of taste but was large on quantity so in some ways good value for money - but all dishes were short on taste. The micro brewery beer was good. The waiting staff were very good - particularly with young children. Just got the feeling that on Sunday the kitchen was stretched by... More
