Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We kept on returning to this lovely local coffee shop, next to the distillery. Good coffee, good cakes, and a small supermarket. On the coast with a lovely view.

Just an amazing little place. Had some lunch amd coffee, sitting outside in the sun, waiting for the bus. Friendly staff

Too late for lunch at the local pub so they directed us here. Cheese toasty, cup of coffee, sat outside in the sun watching the sparrows pick up the crumbs and looking out across the bay.

Brilliant breakfast rolls - so good we came back two days later. Wolfing down a bruichladdich breakfast whilst watching the bay is a lovely experience on its own - made even more special by being interrupted by a curious robin who entertained the kids for...a while!More

Externally it looks uninspiring and I've been deceived by "great coffee" signs, but this little place is fantastic. Very friendly and helpful and a joy to visit. And yes, the coffee is great.

While on our way to Portnahaven we stopped at Bruichladdich for a coffee and cake and both were first class. Added to this was the lovely blethers we had with the owner and a local customer. Great atmosphere and worth a visit.

Intended touring Kilchoman distillery, but it was closed. Gasping for coffee, drove westwards and saw the wee sign. they do coffee to takeaway, there are more seats outside than there are in, but it was raining. Unusual to get bar room craic in a coffee...shop, but it was great fun. The coffee was good too.More

We popped in here for a quick bite of lunch before our tour at Bruichladdich on the recommendation of our hosts at Glenegedale B&B. It is a bit of quirky place, but incredible friendly, fab toasties and yes, the coffee is great! When our host...found out we were here to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday, we got his drink on the house! I have to say this is typical of everyone we met on Islay, just a lovely place. We didn't want to come home.More

You can get a soy latte here. The lady is so kind. She makes the greatest toasties in all of the land. Friendly service with a great view.

This local store was recommended by our tour guide at Bruichladdich Distillery. Not a big place but a good selection of snacks, drinks, whiskies and a coffee/sandwich bar. The ladies make a mean sandwich from a variety of local ingredients. Definitely a place to stop...by for a coffee and a sandwich while visiting the area.More

My wife and I regularly visit Islay (we used to live there). We always make a point of dropping in for a coffee and a snack/cake. We were there twice last week and as usual thoroughly enjoyed our food and drink (and blethers with locals)....Highly recommended.More

No airs and graces at Debbie's, just great snacks, cakes and coffee. If you're on Islay and fancy a coffee break or a quick lunch, this is the place to go. If the weather's good and you can sit outside overlooking Loch Indaal, it's just...about perfect. This year we had cheese and tomato toasties and coffee and walnut cake with coffee. Everything delicious, and as always, very generous portions!More

The best square sausage and egg sandwiches in the world !!!!!!! Yum yum yum. Please don’t go to Islay without tasting these delights. A warm and friendly cafe/shop. A Cyclists dream stop off. Can’t praise the place enough. 😁😁😁😁😁

This business was right next door to where we were staying at Anchorage B&B, & was really handy for supplies we'd forgotten for our trip. We didn't have anything from the cafe but it was always a busy wee place & has option to sit...inside or outside. Staff were very friendly & helpful.More

The board outside says you can get great coffee. And believe me, it is. Best coffee out we’ve had for ages. Presuming I was served by Debbie, she is wonderful, we went back every day of our visit. You may sometimes have to wait awhile...to be served, but it’s worth it. Do support this unassuming coffee shop and mini market.More
