Exactly what I expected from a chalet restaurant. Wooden interior, large fireplace, excellent food, friendly and efficient service. Compliments not only to the chef, but to all staff.

If you like to sit for ages for a menu and then ages to get served and then even longer for your order to arrive this is the place for you. Never known it to take food so long
Cosy atmosphere of a wooden chalet with seating outside and in, menu had both burgers (the kids one was delicious and home cooked) and local dishes (we has a tasty fondu), reasonably priced for the area. Our waiter was great - enthusiastic and friendly. All...in all a great find!More
Good is ok, miserable, slow, unfriendly and disorganized service. Little respect for customer expectations. .
Chalet Regain is located in the very heart of the Les Rousses village: very convenient. It has a great atmosphere and the people there have a very pleasant mix of friendliness and low-key unpretentiousness. Do not let this raise your expectations too much though: you...may hit a lucky day, but when we visited the food was disappointingly average and certainly not worth the price we paid. A real pity: it would not take much to turn things around and make the Chalet into a great experience... I am hopeful that they will get there!More
Nice place (chalet in wood) to share a good french cheesy meal (burgers) with friends or family. Well located in the city center, but just on the pavement. Food is good and waisters are nice. Better to book your place before coming. Value for money...could be better.More
We are here on Sunday. We ordered a fish 'burger', two kids menus and a poulet fermier. The positive: we hadn't reserved but they found us one of the last tables. The dishes were served very stylishly. The guy who seemed in charge was friendly....That's about it. The food was expensive. The kids dish, at 11.90 was not worth it - a packet of knacks hot dog style sausages and some fries, no salad or vegetables with it. The trout burger was served cold, no cooking skills involved. The chicken was supposed to be 300g but my husband was left hungry. In addition despite there being a chimney in the middle of the room, we were cold as it there were draughts. The table were also a bit too closely packed together. All in all I won't be going back I'm afraid.More
Dining out with a 4 and 2 year old is always a nerve wracking experience but, sick of our packed lunches, we thought we'd brave lunch in a real life restaurant on the last day of our Jura holiday. We were very pleasantly surprised with...this place. The staff were more than hospitable to our young family. Our meals were delivered very quickly, before the small people became too "hangry! The presentation was phenomenal. Very fun and innovative. I can only describe it as the "Willy Wonka effect." Very very fun and I'm pleased to say they ate every scrap of food. We too felt like kids in a sweetie shop. Our food really hit the spot and we wish we had found this place at the beginning of our holiday. If you are looking for haute cuisine, then this isn't the place for you, but our meals were certainly delicious and we enjoyed the whole experience even more due to our very happy mini diners.More
To be honest Les Rousses is not a chic/hip ski area so Chalet Regain stands out among the other fairly average eateries in the town. Because of this it's usually busy, so booking is advised. The interior design concept (it has one!) is fun/chalet/industrial but...has a cosy central fire in winter and the toilets are quite an experience (don't expect white polished porcelain). The food is simple (burgers, salads, steak, trout etc..) but beautifully presented and good quality - a little on the pricey side for les Rousses but worth it. Staff are great - they work incredibly hard and are still polite and smiling (also rare in these parts ;)).More
Lovely atmosphere in Chalet Regain, with amazing presentation of food ; especially the burgers. I tried snails for the first time, and they were divine! Both of us had burgers which were presented wonderfully and tasted great. Big portion sizes and good prices. €19 for...a huge burger with chips and salad was good for me. We had the Café Gourmand for desert to share - this was a fun surprise! My only downside to the experience was the slow service. The waiters were very friendly but slow. We waiting over half an hour for our starter and by the time we came to ask for the bill, no staff were in sight for a good 20 minutes. This didn't ruin the experience for me, it was great fun and good tasting food! Definitely worth a visit.More
Lovely restaurant in the centre of the village. It has a fireplace in the middle and has a real chalet feel to it
We had lunch here, a fondue with salad and a couple of beers. The fondue was one of the best we've tried in Switzerland! It's a shame we had to stand at the door waiting to be seated for at least 10 minutes, no exaggeration....We could see no reason with tables free other than drinks being made and served and tables needing to be cleared. The staff were friendly, definitely not the management but we still felt unattended to. The meals that passed us were really creatively presented. They looked amazing, particularly the desserts. Our meal was brought out very quickly with lots of bread. I would still recommend this restaurant to friends but would warn them to be patient!More
After mixed reviews, I was not sure what to expect really! But this was truly one of the best chalet food we have had in the Jura region! First of all, you will notice that the design is very characteristic and from the shape of...the glass until the plates until the toilet will surely surprise you! But obviously the most important one is the food and remarkably I have had here on of the better steak Tartares and fries! Our kids had the fondue which was equally good! Next time I will try dinner, but for lunch this was an excellent choice!More
This is a pleasant chalet-style restaurant very close to the tourist centre and across from the ski jump. Tartiflette was absolutely fantastic: rich, creamy, and delicious. Burgers were beautifully presented with perfectly cooked fries. Salad was solid and the local (Jura, "Dedicace") pinot noir was...tasty. Service was a bit slow since the waiter was swamped...but friendly and professional. I will eat here again As there are several other dishes I want to try.More
Just across the border from Switzerland, this is a typical Alpine locale. We arrived on Sunday evening without a booking and were accommodated straight away at a table for 5. The atmosphere was real fun, alpine style and Fondue bubbling away at several tables. We...had to have the fondue, and it was very good. My wife, our granddaughter and son all had burgers, they would not have been my choice but they were really home made and enjoyed. We recommend this restaurant for an informal meal, but apparently on busy days it is necessary to reserve a table.More
