Halfway point for a Sunday after walk, we had tried to get in here before without booking a table. So we booked this time, it looked great and it was. Everything was spot on, food, beer and the staff are great. We had the Sunday...More

When the pig and pallet opened up, it was a welcome addition to the south west dining scene. A ‘spin off’ to the Good Game family, so I expected the owners to know what they are talking about. Products are mostly sourced locally (within 20...More

Unfortunately, this place is a bad imitation of barbecue. It seems pretty clear that the people behind this have never been to a real barbecue restaurant or, if they have, they’ve decided that Devon doesn’t need the genuine article. Nothing we ate for lunch hit...More

Called in for a meal here recently. The decor and style of food service was quirky, but the food was very good. ( if a tad overpriced. ) the waiters were very friendly, helpful and very handsome. We shall definitely return.More

We choose a selection of starters and sides and they were all great. The veggie in the party was happy with the options despite a meat heavy menu but it's the meat eaters that do best here. Lovely location too.More

The pulled pork is glued together with sickly sweet barbecue sauce which completely overwhelms the taste of the pork and masks any smokiness. It's a mess of a sandwich that reminds me of what my school cafeteria used to serve on "sloppy joe" days. The...More

Description
Relaxed and informal. Some communal dining and some smaller tables. We are a butcher using classic methods from British and European sales to produce our own cured meats. We also take influences from American BBQ to produce well cooked smoked meats. We make everything possible ourselves. We make Pastrami for the Reubens, Franks for the dogs. We are very pleased with our award winning burgers. Be sure to ask what the secret is to a great burger (by the way there is no secret just use great dry aged Devon beef with salt and pepper).
