A bit expensive but good atmosphere and good food. If you are not one a budget and want to try this genre of food, try this. It books up early in prime season though!

We arrived early for dinner and chose from the $20 preset three course menu. The glass of wine or beer offered with the meal was a nice touch. However, the starters were average-- pea soup was watery and the wild meat pate had little flavour....More

Great old restaurant but get there before 6:00 pm; cost of your meal is much cheaper. Apart from a menu there is a laid on meal, well worth the $20 each but not $50.

Service was lacking. Drink menu was okay. Food was over priced for what you got. Escargot was awesome. Confit duck was dry. Had the seafood platter as a main; 6 prawns, 2 scallops and 2 lobster tales... too bad it came cold- kitchen would not...More

We wanted to try some Quebecois food and decided to eat lunch at the Aux Anciens Canadiens restaurant. We were not disappointed. The Maison Jacquet ,which houses the restaurant, is one of the oldest houses in the province dating from 1677. Our group of 6...More

Our tour guide suggested we try this restaurant if we wished to experience French Canadian home-style cooking. My husband ordered a deer selection and thought his was pretty good. I wanted to try two dishes that are part of our home traditions (French-Canadian ancestors) -...More

The waitress recommended a great platter for two. It was a sampling of typical Québécois comfort foods. A perfect start to a great visit. The staff is warm and inviting. The atmosphere is intimate and calming. Romantic and fun.

WOW! The variety of meat is special. Try the plate which offers 3-in-1. Great ambiance in an old establishment. Wonderful!

Lots of old Quebec menu options! Various types of game meat that you don't typically find. The food very good. The service was slow, but we were in no hurry, so that was fine. There aren't many tables, so make a reservation.

I don't think so, but I wasn't looking for it either. Sorry. Menu is on their website or you can call them directly.
Is there a dress code?

Response from ThommmFlorida | Reviewed this property |
No dress code. For lunch, people were there in shorts. For dinner, dress casual. Jeans and a polo shirt would be OK. Few places in Quebec City are dressy, according to the concierge at the hotel.
