Go there regularly. Great spot to grab a drink after work and watch habs games. the food is pretty good as well, especially for a pub. reserve on thursdays for 5a7 it gets pretty busy.

My boyfriend brought me here during our trip to Montreal this past weekend, and the service was great, the beer was great, and the ambiance was even better. Definitely a "must go" pub stop! Looking forward to coming back again in the future!

Had a great visit right before a Canadiens hockey game. It was loud but people all fun, staff were very friendly and the pub had the typical Irish pub look to it. Food was Montreal Canadiens themed and was decent cheap eats.

First visited as an undergrad back in 2012 and have great memories (beer towers as a 20 year old American). This time around, I brought my girlfriend and made new memories here. We went on a quiet and cold evening, had great drinks and service. Looking forward to coming back!

My boyfriend and I visited last weekend and loved this place. They have a super fun menu during Habs games. My boyfriend got the pizza and couldn't stop raving about it. I, on the other hand, was craving hot dogs (I wanted stadium food I guess) even though they aren't on the menu. Our incredible waitress went above and beyond... More

We were looking for a place to go after a concert that wasn't full of really young kids and McLean's was recommended by our hotel. The drinks were good, service great and it was a great atmosphere. The music was good, but not so loud that you couldn't have a conversation.

Went looking for a nice pub to have a simple dinner. This pub was recommended by the hotel, and it fit our needs perfectly. The service was very good, the beer selection was okay, and the food was good. It is quieter and the music is not so blaring as with some of the other nearby pubs. A great place... More

With so many great pubs in Montreal I had somehow never heard of this place. But what a treasure. Amazing original decor ( high ceilings, tin panelling, giant carved wood fireplace). But the big sports screens are there to entertain fans. Service was fast & efficient. Good specials & selection of beer and other drinks. Big portions - fish &... More

Description
Built in 1910 by Military Tailor, R.J. Inglis, the building at 1210 Peel Street became the Rymark Tavern in the early 30's. For over 60 years the Rymark was a destination spot for Pigs Knuckles and Baked Beans. In 1992 McLean's Pub was established by the legendary Montreal barman, Ian McLean. Ian loved the warm and inviting atmosphere, with its oak beamed ceilings, hand carved fireplace, and many other unique features. With his incredible charm and a handpicked staff, Ian created a new pub on the scene. He has since passed, but his namesake and life's work is now a landmark pub in downtown Montreal!

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
