Great wine list. Great welcome. As a local, this is a recurring address in my dining notebook. The food is luxurious with a menu that rotates with the season. It is not cheap but worth it for a special occasion.

Been here many times over the years and it continues to satisfy, on many levels. Welcoming, cozy, not at all stuffy and importantly, not noisy (like many of the newer restos). Top notch yet friendly service, nice presentation, inventive menu that changes frequently. Portions are well sized so that you can enjoy an appetizer, a primo and/or secondo. Easy to... More

What a meal! Such an extraordinary evening. Eating at Primo e Secondo is heaven. Such joy and pleasure with a harmony of flavours, fresh ingredients and great atmosphere. It was a family dinner and we started with crab cakes and tuna tartar. What can I say, the portions were not skimpy and chunks of crab in a delicious aioli. If... More

2nd time here. Will be many more. Celebrated my wife's birthday here. To begin we had the home mode bread/pizza with garlic and smoked cheese. Unbelievable to say the least. Torralli sticks under the oven with a fresh crush garlic dip. Awsome. We ordered the mozzarella buffalo and pomodori salad and risotto followed by Cornish hen and Sea Bass. All... More

Truly a gem in Montreal. This is a classic great Itialian Restauatant bringing fresh from the garden to the table. Its small and has a huge menu where everything on it is simply awesome. It's always special when the owner is also the chef. Can't say what's good because everything is great. My favourite Itialian in Montreal

Great food, excellent service and wine suggestion. The entrees were well balanced in portion and tasty. My risotto, which is a recommended was outstanding. My veal chop was delicious. All 6 guests enjoyed the food, very well prepared and alot of flavor to the dishes. A RECOMMENDATION to come back. We expressed our feelings to the Chef.

Great food and excellent staff. The menu is written in Italian on a chalk board on the wall and the lovely waiters come by and explain everything to you. It just makes the experience that much better and authentically Italian! :) It is the perfect restaurant to celebrate a special occasion or for a quiet dinner with friends.

The food is to die for. Everything was great, food and service. A bit pricey but so worth it. Definitely the best Italian food in Montreal.

Neighbourhood Profile
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie has one of Canada's most prominent Italian communities, with Little Italy concentrated along the convivial bends of Saint-Lawrence Boulevard. Known for its fantastic bars and authentic Italian fare, the domain includes the Jean-Talon Market, the largest public market in North America. Open year-round, sunny months see fruit and vegetable stalls set up outside the main chalet, while blustery weather draws crowds indoors to meat and cheese sellers, spices and truffles stalls, and for regional delicacies such as rare Charlevoix lamb. While the market dictates what's fresh for local restaurateurs, visitors can please more than their palates, taking in the Renaissance architecture and frescos of Madonna della Difesa, the picturesque Rue Saint-Rominique with its cheerful homes and splendid gardens, or the ornamented thoroughfare of Plaza Saint-Hubert.
