We come from a city with amazing ethnic foods so we may have been a little hard to please. We wanted Pho for lunch so stopped in at Pho Maisonneuve. The restaurant was run by one guy in the front who took take out orders, waited on the tables, cashed out etc. The place was fairly clean and small but... More

We were looking for a restaurant in this part of town and had read great reviews about this spot...we left disappointed. The food was just OK, nothing special at all. I've eaten at many Vietnamese restaurants, but this one lacked flavour and ambience. The man serving us appeared to be the owner and was very nice. The place is clean.... More

I went for lunch and had a lunch special, the spring rolls and sauce great, the soup also extraordinary and one of the best Pad Thai's I have eaten in a long time.

Worst asian restaurant I could have ever imagined. Ordered our food with two waitstaff. Like a lot of restaurants in Montréal you have to bring your own wine, which is fine because I don't drink. However, the dirty water in the pitcher was unacceptable. I asked for bottled water and the waiter said, you want a bottle to put your... More

We visited this restaurant several times during our stay in Montreal in July 2015. We had several dishes including the rice paper rolls with prawns and vegetarian, the beef pho and a red curry. Each dish included very generous serves, plenty of vegetables and nice quality meat. Excellent place to have a quick meal or takeaway. It was a relief... More

Tasty noodles with good prices. Convenient hours and location. We had takeout from here two times (!) during our stay in Montreal.

My husband and I ate here a few days ago, as it was steps away from the B&B we were staying at. I had the pho soup with beef and it was the best soup I've ever tasted! He had the pad thai which was also delicious. Portions are big, price is reasonable and food is amazing, what more can... More

All the food was excellent. Family run. Ranges from typical to pretty exotic fare. Depends on how adventurous you feel. Super casual. Very affordable.

I go to Montreal often and quite by accident when I got off the bus I walked into this little place a few years ago. Now it is one of the things I look forward to every time I go to Montreal. And I have had great meals in Montreal at fancy places. So Why you might ask is this... More

My husband and I ate here on our first night in Montreal. After a tremendously long day traveling, we needed this cozy, local gem. We chose this spot at the recommendation of the owners of our B&B. We needed the healing bone broth and delicious spring rolls! What LARGE portions and what a comfortable environment. We most definitely recommend the... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
