Excellent food with a good atmosphere and location. Staff including Tony were great. Be aware, portion sizes are large.

Very nice atmosphere. Food was well prepared and delicious. Enjoyed the ambiance. I iordered the braised rib. Perfectly cooked. Vegetables were cooked but still crispy. Potatoes were oven baked and tasty. We were not offered any drinks but the waiter kept filling up our water glasses. A nice relaxing meal.

The lower level is a happening bar with a good selection of drinks and beers. For eating, I would recommend be sat upstairs. Service is attentive. Fresh hot bread comes quickly as does a replacement when it is done! Minestrone is vegetarian and is wonderful with a hefty amount of parmesan cheese. I enjoyed the chicken parmesan with pasta with... More

The atmosphere is friendly and comfortable, but the music is way too loud. Forget about having a conversation with anyone. We were a large group of 16 people. No water or bread was brought to the the table until all 16 patrons were present. The bread was not fresh, and we were only give three small loaves for all sixteen... More

My husband and I stopped by for lunch. Large restaurant. Menu has good variety of food and drink. We opted for the lunch special. I had Tilapia, my husband had beef. Starters were soup or salad; it was really cold out so we both had soup. Fresh hot bread with a dish of olive oil and spices were brought to... More

We have been to W&G a couple times when on vacation in Montreal and always have a good time. Food and staff are good, plus it is a large busy (loud) place with lots of atmosphere Lighting is dim and that makes it quite hard to read menus at some tables (we noticed a few other tables using the lights... Wienstein & Gavino's has been around for as long as I can remember. The restaurant looks very nice and has an atmosphere that you can just simply experience here. The food was good and our waitress was very attentive. The restaurant is very loud so not the place to visit for a quiet evening. Both of us in our party... More

The place is absolutely stunning inside with great atmosphere. We visit once or twice a year to Montreal and are back this weekend with friends and will look to other options. I can only comment on our server who was rude and seemed uninterested till it was time to pay the bill. I had the seafood mare which for the... More

Good Italian restaurant with lots of space in a famous street in Montréal. The service was very nice. Big quantities of food and bread served with a good pesto to dip it in. I would definitely go back soon.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
