Found the food to be bland - the Caesar salad needed more oomph. The veal was tender but, again bland. I was not paid much attention by the staff in a restaurant with few customers.

Friends and I were at Hurleys Pub and the waitress recommended this place next door. Walked past it a million times in Montreal and never looked twice. So glad we went there. Great atmosphere, awesome service. The food is amazing. Best pasta I've had since being in Rome in 2015. Everyone at our table love their meal. I had ravioli... More

Trestevere is my favorite Italian restaurant in Montreal. I always enjoy eating the Lasagne there, it is my favorite.

My wife and I are fortunate enough to visit different regions of Italy each year, however Florence primarily. Compounded with the fact that my wife is Italian and a wonderful cook we are without wishing to appear pretentious, quite discerning when it comes to eating at restaurants. Trattoria Trestevere seems to break all the exceptions to the rule. This cosy... More

I recently spent three weeks traveling in Italy. The meal I had in this restaurant equaled many of them. There were 8 in our party and we all ordered varied entrees. No one was disappointed. The food was delightfully presented and deliciously fresh. The atmosphere was spot on Italian, right down to authentic Italian servers. They were prompt and pleasant.... More

The best spaghetti with meat sauce I have ever had. Portion sizes are generous so my daughter and I split the main course since it was lunchtime, and we had plenty to eat.

This is one of my new favourite Italian restaurants in downtown Montreal. The location is great as its very close to the Bell Centre and the main streets of the downtown. Service was professional and the food was top notch. We all ordered dishes from our waiter's recommendations and everyone loved what they received. The Risotto and Tortellini Gigi are... More

This place is better than it looks but it is hurt by the fact that although it is on Crescent St it is in the wrong side of Rue Sainte Catherine so it is a slow part of the street. We ate outside and the food was good as was the service. It was a little pricey for what it... More

At the beginning, you are served "bruschetta" which was Yummy! As a starter we had the "Escargot" complete w/bread that was soo good also. We had the Spaghetti Bolognese and the Penne dish which were also very tasty and the portions were of a very good size!

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
