My brother and I stopped here after the game at the Bell Centre it was a Saturday night and we were looking for a place where we could grab an ice cream shake. We walked in at about 10:10 they closed at 11 they really did not want to serve us at all. Like they were just passing up our... More

Quick visit after a walking/shopping day in the area, we had the classic Reuben's Smoked Meat Sandwich and it was really good, kind of big actually (great portion vs price), the service is casual but very attentive, nice work! We really enjoy our meal there and probably come back soon.

Was pretty hungover after a night of drinking during the world juniors. Stopped into Reuben's for a late brunch smoked meat sandwich. Got the $12 lunch special that was a sandwich with a pop and fries. Really hit the spot. With that said, I would have made the trek to Schwartz if I had the time and while this place... More

Schwartz's is the original, but it's crowded, messy and not very comfortable. Reuben's is more like a classic steak house with lots of wood. Amazing smoked meat sandwiches, but my wife had a great seared tuna dish (she doesn't like smoked meat, but I think I'll keep her anyway). It's always busy, but it's big no we had no trouble... Recommended by my hotel concierge at the Omni. It was busy but I sat quickly at the bar where there was a friendly and attentive bartender. The smoked meat sandwich was delicious, fair priced, warm, and fast! Recommended.

We always manage to go when we are a group of 10-15 people and all the dishes look amazing. I have always thoroughly enjoyed the experience of nice portions of very good and well prepared food. Although always packed during lunch, I never felt rushed. In fact service is top notch. A must-go-to place for perfect smoked meat.

Party of 15 out for celebration with friends and family. Great burgers, steaks and chicken The cheesecake was divine. None completed their food - large portions. And yes, the coffee was great! Just what one needed

We stopped here for a late lunch/early supper and tried the classic reuben. The deli was very busy. I don't think it was very kid friendly for food choices!

We stopped in here after looking for classic Montréal smoked meat. We were not disappointed. The initial look of the place is very poor. If it was not for previous reviews we would not have even entered. The restaurant really needs a face lift and that is the major criticism. The only other suggestion would be to reduce the size... Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
