We dined here on New Year's Eve. I expected this place to be overly booked so I ensured to make reservations. I am happy that I did and yet the restaurant had just the right amount of patrons. The ambience was great and so was the service. They had a NYE menu that you could order a few options off... More

We walked here for fondue one night when staying in the neighborhood over Christmas. My wife split a fondue with her sister and I split the raclette with another sister. Raclette is a mild cheese and there is a toaster type of oven brought to the table. You are given about 6 nice-sized chunks of cheese and you melt them... More

Our group of girls went to La Raclette for a birthday. We were throughly disappointed. The service was horrible- our appetizers came right away and then we had an hour before our mains. They were not accommodating of vegetarians (as they claim to be on their website). We had to continually ask for waters to be refilled. Our mains (raclettes)... More

Nice little spot with amusing live music. EXCELLENT service. The lamb tartar was perfectly balanced. We had a cheese fondue as main course, the only thing is I would have had more vegetables than bread (but bread is in fact the tradition).

Our dinner at La Raclette was the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary while visiting Montreal. The outdoor terrace was lovely, the service was great, and that raclette was delicious. I had mentioned while making a reservation that it was our anniversary, and they brought out complimentary dessert on a plate decorated with "Happy Wedding Anniversary," a candle, and a... More

Pleasant atmosphere and fine food. Loved the Gazpacho Andaluz. Also had an excellent drinks menu, with many local liquors.

This is a delightful restaurant on a residential street neat St. Denis, with a great sidewalk terrace for people-watching (and they'll watch you do your raclette!). Our family did the raclette, after some salads, and were not disappointed. There was plenty of cheese with which to build your dinner (won't bore you if you don;t know!), and service was efficient,... More

never having Raclette, we decided to try this, however, ended up with a cheese fondue. great homemade pickles and pearl onions. Bought costco wine and blance du chamblay at the neighboring convenience store. Great meal with excellent service. lots of street parking. Did not feel touristy, in fact it was quite charming. Worth venturing out of the downtown area. Would... More

Was there two weeks ago. The waiter was very attentive and was knowledgeable about the different courses being served on the menu. This was the first time my friend goes to La Raclette and had a few questions regarding the items on the menu. Food was excellent and tasty. Both my friend and I had difficulty finish the plates as... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
