This restaurant was recommended by several people as a "must go to" place. I arrived without a reservation, so had to wait in order to get a seat at the bar. There was a convivial atmosphere. I was treated courteously and given menus (both French...More

They serve a fantastic brunch but we like to go for dinner. Reservations a must. Steak frites is amazing-they recommend great wine with the meal. The ile flotant for dessert is Devine - reserve one ahead of time.

Our meal was a very solid, but not necessarily a memorable meal. My fish soup was very well seasoned, but the toast bits with melted gruyere were the highlight of the soup appetizer for me. Wife’s frisée salad with lardon was much better. For entrees...More

Our Montreal friends took us to this place because, according to them, it's a typical Montreal restaurant. The food was delicious, the menu interesting and varied, and the staff most helpful and friendly. The dark wood and long bar make the interior cozy and welcoming.

I loved this place. So I went back to it recently full of wonderful memories. Me, a Montrealer. Paper napkins now? Thin paper napkins. Sure the pickles in the jar were still there, but what, am I supposed to do, put them on the tablecloth?...More

We had a wonderful dinner at L'Express during our visit to Montreal. The restaurant is lively and the service is swift. We enjoyed the sorrel soup, chicken liver pate, beet salad and roasted quail. The food quality, presentation and service were all top notch! The...More
