The first sign of trouble was when we walked in & the staff looked at us then looked away. We then sat ourselves. The second sign was when the waitress gave us a piece of paper & pen, then walked away. My wife was nominated to be the waitress & she wrote our orders down. The real waitress poured us... More

Nice simple decor, clean, fast and respectful service. Prices are pretty low for the high quality of food. Nice portions. Fresh and well balanced spices.

Went here for a late meal and was quite impressed. Had the fried salt and pepper tofu, the ma po tofu, and the fish hotpot. The fish in particular was excellent. Maybe a bit too much corn starch in the ma po tofu sauce tho. You can bring your own outside wine.

My mother has been taking me here for years (since the age of two) and it has managed to stay consistent with its flavours and AMAZING won ton noodle soup! Love the simplicity and comfort of this spot and being able to bring your own wine is an added bonus. A must try in Chinatown!

The facade kinda looked appealing to me as I had been passing by the restaurant more than 5 times in my vacation. So on the last night of my vacation, I decided to try out the food. I came in; the ambiance was good. I was walked thru a small table - small, as I was alone. After a couple.of... More

The food was freshly prepared and good. The restaurant offers delivery through several online services but also has take out and eat in.

Looking for Chinese food and found Deer Garden. Mins from the Jazz festival. OMG this place is superfast and the food was amazing. 6 of us ordered something different from the menu, you write down our order and pass in the form. Before we knew it our food was on the table hot, tasty and fresh. I would definitely return... More

This place is very busy on week-ends. Round tables in the back for 8 people or more. Best wonton soup ever if you ask for the one with egg noodles to share.

The waitress here was absolutely charming and accommodating. We were both vegans and she pointed out what on the menu was good. Place was very clean, simple, close to our hotel and we went there on Sunday evening when many places are closed down. I think you can bring your own bottle since they do not serve alcohol.

3 starters, 3 mains, and 3 rice for $60. We had Ginger Chicken (delicious), Chicken Pad Thai (nice kick to it), Thai Vegetables (hot and spicy) and Beef with Black Bean sauce - a favourite with one of our group but a bit rich for me. Tea on the table as soon as we arrived (complimentary) and forks supplied alongside... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
