We were three couples from out of town and we were all looking forward to a good Italian meal. And this is exactly what we got. From the appetizers to the desert, everything was excellent. Atmosphere was great, excellent place for a romantic couple's meal or a small group. The service is top notch.

After travelling for a few weeks, my husband was keen for an Italian dinner and Il Campari did not disappoint. Great service, good wine list and a food selection that covered old favourites through to innovative Italian cuisine. When you leave full and happy, life is good.

About 30 of us were at Campari on a hockey game night ( Saturday) for a family birthday. Even though they are packed for hockey games, our event, thanks to Peter and his staff was outstanding. The food from salad & soup to mains like pasta, veal, salmon, or chicken, not to forget appetizers, and wine or drinks was delicious.... More

We went for a girls lunch on a Friday afternoon. We were very pleased to have most of the restaurant to ourselves. The ambiance is beautiful and the music was very tasteful (Italian), which is something you rarely find anymore. Our server was knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant and also very well informed on the menu. He was attentive, but we... More

I went here with a friend and our daughters before the Adele show last week and it was disappointing all around. The atmosphere is a bit stuffy with all male wait staff and very formal dining room, although the front porch dining looked inviting. Our plate of two pastas and a bottle of wine (which we split) cost over $100... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
