The service was great and all of us like the fond. Even though our youngest son spilled his milk, we only saw happy face.

If you have a crave for an excellent pizza, this is probably on the best hidden gem in downtown Montréal. Located at the central train station they have a great selection, fast and friendly service, which is convenient at the busy downtown lunch time.

It was raining above and we found ourselves wandering around the underground city. When hunger set in, we found ourselves in front of the DP. The signage was funny and I thought, what the heck. The lone worker said we could sit anywhere. There were a couple of families and some other wayward people eating. It's also adjacent to the... More

Looking for dinner on a Sunday evening we found this place at Gare Centrale. Had the BBQ chicken salad and it was excellent. We had an early train the next morning and returned for breakfast. Relatively quick service and an excellent bacon & cheese omelette with potatoes, toast, fruit slices, and coffee - as good as any NY diner that... More

I loved the Deli Planet pun with all the appropriate pun'ish decor. Situated in Central station the breakfast we had certainly set us up for the day. Plentiful and delicious, and exceptionally good value. I had 'a full english' with orange juice, tea and toast for about $7 [about £5]. Service was good and friendly and a comprehensive menu.

We stopped in to Deli Planet for lunch before catching our bus back home. The waitress was very nice and looked after us very quickly. We both ordered a burger (different) from the extensive burger menu. The meat was excellent, the toppings unique and over all very delicious. They were served with a huge side of french fries and coleslaw.... More

Five $ Breakfast specials every day.. Monday crepes, Tuesday Western Omlete, Wednesday French Toast, etc etc.. Where can you get a meal for 5$ these days? The quality is excellent. They have a varied menu for lunch and train travellers have a very good choice of take out sandwiches and wraps to take on the train. Staff very efficient and... More

The food here is quite good and reasonably priced. The pizza is excellent, and the French Onion Soup is quite good and filling. Service was a bit slow, but very friendly. All in all, a great experience.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
