The food is fresh and very good but better then that is the above average friendliness of the staff! Everyone is so nice at this restaurant and so friendly and that combined with the good food makes the place a great place to go to for one night out! Portions are average but good, prices are not too high, try... More

This restaurant came highly recommended. The menu, 2 pages long, was surprisingly short for a Chinese restaurant. The food was all delicious, but servings were small. The crispy beef with ginger and maple is not to be missed. A mouse was seen scurrying into the kitchen as we paid our bill. Took the bloom off an otherwise delicious feast.

The menu is very limited. The prices are rather high, especially for what you get. The portions are very small, and the food was mostly tasteless. The won ton soup came to the table 'brown’. Never saw brown won ton soup before. They must have added soya sauce ‘without’ asking us. I never put soya sauce in anything. The orange... More

There are many Chinese restaurants in Montreal, but only a very few SPECIAL Chinese restaurants. Au Bon Blé Riz is one of the VERY SPECIAL. When my birthday rolls around and my spouse offers to treat me to any culinary experience I wish, I inevitably opt for what we call “Vivian’s”. Vivian is the name of the supremely gracious lady... Our family has been going to Bon Ble Riz for about 20 years. Discovered by accident when in a hurry before a concert. Have been going back ever since, often times making the two hour trip (round trip) just for the food. Consistently excellent food, including the absolute best hot and sour soup I have found, wonderful sizzling noodle dishes... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
