My husband and I have been here twice on our trip and love it. Friendly and helpful waitstaff and locals are abundant. The food is decent as well. Live music and pool tables top off the casual hip vide.

Any time I visit Montreal I make a point of having dinner at Pub St-Paul. I like grabbing a seat at the front over looking the streets. It's central in Old Montreal where you can walk around the streets or head down to the waterfront. The staff is always friendly (even to us Canadians with poor French). Of course you... More

Seats are available inside upstairs only. We recommend visitors to sit by the windows which overlooks Saint Paul street & pavilion Jacque Cartier. Windows open during sunny/good weather. Upon arrival, we were greeted immediately. Server speaks English & French; attentive & respectful. We ordered smoked salmon salad; UNLIMITED fish & chips; hot tea; spent $37.94 Canadian dollars. Fish & chips... More

We got there on a Saturday night, place was pretty empty and despite that service was extremely slow. The food menu has a variety of different plates to pick. We ordered mussels, pasta and poutine. All plates were OK, good size and ok taste. Place has a great view to the street and side and the Old port.

Hi MizKozi, thank you for taking a minute to review our business and I'm sorry for responding so late (TripAdvisor played a trick on us, long story). Dennis Quaid was most definitely an amazing artist and performer, we're very grateful for the show! Keep an eye out for upcoming live band events on our Facebook page! More

We stopped here for a late lunch with our two children, after touring Notre-Dame Basilica and the streets of old Montreal. This pub restaurant looked like a good place to stop. We had a window seat, looking over the St. Lawrence. Overall, the service was good and the food was good, but not a very interesting menu. What is offered... More

I had dinner there last night with my family and found the food to be disappointing. The service was friendly (slow, but I didn't mind that - it is nice to feel as though you are not being rushed) and the atmosphere fine. The best thing about was was the lovely views that it offered.

Our whole family ordered the all you can eat fish and chips. The fish was fresh and clearly hand floured. Very yummy. The chips were just as good. We all got one extra fish fry piece. It comes with 3. Beautiful views of the harbor and you can hear the clip clop of horses as you Sit two stories over... More

My wife and I stopped here for lunch while walking around Old Montreal. This restaurant is in the heart of The Old Port. The food we had was mediocre at best, as it tasted like most standard pub fare. The dining rooms are upstairs on the second and third levels with steps only. The rest rooms are on the third... More

If you are looking for good poutine - this is the place. They have a two page menu with many poutine options and it is definitely enough to share. In the late afternoon, this place is not busy and it is a good break from the busy street below - the streets overlooking the river are especially nice. You do... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
