It is a small restaurant but don't let it fool you!!!! The food is really great and the price is very reasonable. It is a place where you can go with your family, kids or just friends. I have been there many times and keep on going back.

The food is wonderful & the staff is very friendly. I would recommend this place for a family style dinner. I have gone back time and time again because the friendly family like atmosphere is very inviting and this is not a restaurant that will break the bank on a Saturday night. Whether being for a family style dinner or... More

For starters, we ordered the calamari and garlic snails. The calamari were goid but the snails were average. I had the seafood... More

We have been to this restaurant a number of times. We return with family and friends because it's always good. We returned this time with a coupon and with friends who hadn’t tried this restaurant before. We had a nice big pitcher of Sangria. Starters were mussels and a mixed tapas plate. Mains were veal with Porto sauce, seafood paella... More

Been coming to this place for many years and the staff what makes it special. They treat you like family and work on a slow pace so you enjoy the food in a good way. The food as usual is always great. The wine is always great. Also the Porto.

Very memorable meal with wonderfully friendly staff, and an atmosphere that lends itself to making friends with other patrons - great food too, that took me back to a trip to Lisbon.

I visited recently with my wife for dinner. We've been there before and like to visit a few times a year. Casa Minhota is a long established restaurant on St Laurent boulevard in the heart of the Portuguese community and near many iconic establishments on what Montrealers refer to as 'the Main". Casa Minhota is charming and cosy and decorated... More

First time & delighted. Appears very busy on a Saturday evening. Wine list limited to Portuguese wines. We were a small group --- most settled on seafood platter for two, which appeared to be a House Specialty. The waiter warned us that it could serve three :) We should have listened, as it was fabulous, but unfortunately we had no... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
