We love to experiment with food, and gave Chateau Oncle Jamal (Persian) a try - This was the name on the sign outside the door. We ordered a Lamb dish which was the special of the day (a Sunday), and also a chicken dish. For US, the food lacked flavor and seasoning. I guess our palates are conditioned for more... More

Waitress is not competent at all. We had to wait a long time what we ordered. We had the starters after the main course. Waitress had a lot of trouble to take our orders, she made several mistakes and brought plates we did not order

I went there several times. The quality of foods is very good and the portions are generous. The price/quality ratio is more than correct. The ambiance and decoration is not great. Overall, a very good place to taste Persian food with cheap price.

We are from Toronto with great Iranian restaurants and visiting Montreal, This resto has great quality and value. Assured of authentic dishes. I tried the daily special (Dizzi/abgoosht) only for $10 for a full meal with torshi and fresh sabzikhordan. I hardly had room for the light pastry that can be served with Iranian tea.....worth your trying it. My husband... More

We go to this resto quite often and we like it very much! The food is nice and the price is very good. If you go there on week-end make sure you try " Ab-goosht"! It is a traditional dish, very delicious.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
