I've always had my food delivered from Mak Mak and haven't actually been to the place. I'm a Thai food lover and lived in Thailand for a few months, so I know what typical tastes like, and this isn't exactly it (I was a bit disappointed the first time I ordered because the name of the restaurant is super Thai!)... Ordered veg-wonton soup and got porc wonton soup. What a disappointment. Food was way too salty (MSG). I was crazy thirsty during the rest of the evening and i drank at least a liter of water. Dumplings were smushy, drown in peanut sauce. The philo dough of the imperial rolls, way too think. Delivery guy didn't have change for my... More

The general Tao is great. The delivery guy is a sweetheart and gives amazing service. You always feel welcomed when you go in!

The food is good, the prices are affordable. When you are on the mood for thai, call them. Nice place though.

The Food was excellent and the portions were huge. We had the Tom yum soup with vegetables, the vegetables were all fresh and it was very good. Moreover the small won ton soup and even the small soup was a quite big bowl. We took the food home to eat it there as the shop is not very comfortable but... More

Nice restaurant near my job. You can choose between 6 levels of "spicyness" and I tried them all. Friendly service and a nice selection of beers is available (very practical when you try the level 6 for the spices). Be aware that the restaurant is closed at noon on mondays. tuesdays and wednesdays.

I enjoy the occasional pad thai, but I never though I'd go out of my way to have some, particularly since most Thai restaurants here can make a decent one. And then I discovered Mak Mak. A friend had posted a picture of their pad thai on Facebook, and I found myself craving Thai food. I went with my husband... More

We ordered food and it was horrible service, portions are small and priced high. Delivery guy was rude and forgot half of our order. Then they wanted us to come and pick up the missing food. Poor service and food was cold and not even that good.

Staying in Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)
Once the core of industrialised Montreal, the factories and historic buildings of Le Sud-Ouest have been renovated into homes, museums, and small businesses. The rejuvenated landscape has put its Saint-Henri district in vogue, with cutting-edge galleries and an ever-expanding network of restaurants. Foodies can especially delight in the mom-and-pop shops in Little Burgundy, or at the Atwater Market, where outdoor stalls sell fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat, street vendors have menus of hot fish and wine, and the indoor market offers chocolate, breads, and coffee beans. Dominated by the gentle waters of the Lachine Canal, Le Sud-Ouest is still very much an outdoor town, with a number of pedestrian-only bridges traversing the waters, bike paths along the canal with views of the Leisure Boats, and massive green spaces like Angrignon Park to stop for a picnic, or to play a sport.
