Very good list of whiskey and beer! The PeriPeri wings were outstanding. The fish and chips and burger were decent, but I've definitely had better. The service was prompt and polite.

We like rue Bishop quietness and as we have been to many bars, it was time to try this one. My mistake! The drinks (cider) and Paul the waiter were ok but the food was so bad I have to return it. We tried different options: curry fries, nachos and grilled cheese sandwich. Avoid Avoid Avoid.

Really Disappointed in this place. Was excited to go have breakfast and watch the rugby. Even though there were about 8 people there, we had to ask the barman three times for a cup of tea (worst tea I've had in a long time). Bar freezing all morning - everyone kept their coats on. Other diners near us who had... More

For Canadian Thanksgiving, a friend organized a special Thanksgiving dinner which was held at Fiddler's Green. It has typical Irish pub decor and we were seated at a group table for about 20 people in a special section near the back. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by our meal. It was a traditional turkey dinner with all... More

the place is very old. and i trust tripadvisor for the menu. the web site is not refleting the menu at all. I was there with my mom and after a look on the menu (special of the day: pâte chinois a 12.99$) and the place. We got hot and find a better restaurant. IT was not dificult.

First clue that this place would be awful was that it was empty one hour before a play-off game at the Bell Centre. Every other place in the neighbourhood was hopping. The food was terrible, greasy, tasteless. But worse than that was that the waiter spilt a glass of red wine all over my white jersey (the others at my... More

Went here for dinner with my wife and 2 daughters. What a place. The server was amazing fly friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. My kids felt comfortable and we felt comfortable. We would go back again next time we are in the city.

We popped in for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The place was empty (although started filling up as we were leaving) but I wouldn't expect anything else on a freezing Sunday at 3 pm. Therefore, I can't comment on the "liveliness" as far as a bar atmosphere but I liked the traditional pub atmosphere of the inside decor.... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
