Our first visit to this restaurant and it was a great way to end the day -- a relaxed, fun feel ... perfect for a tapas dinner with friends. The food is interesting, beautifully presented and delicious. Our waiter was extremely patient and helpful sorting out the menu for us. Nice selection of wines.

I'm not one to judge a resto by its pricing but this was absurd. 17 $ for a bambino size pizza is offensive. I had 3 of them just to get a little fill. The pizza itself was mediocre at best and super greasy.

Food is very good, all ingredients are fresh, from the charcuterie and cheese to the pizzette. You can order several plates and share. Good wine list. Good service. Unfortunately is was too noisy when I went for dinner, mainly due to a group of very loud men (not the restaurant's fault) but also music was a bit too loud.

Annoying vegan here! These guys were so accommodating and understanding, I had an amazing meal. First time in a long time sautéed vegetables were yummy and not oily mush! Good beer choice on tap! And my very meat loving husband really enjoyed his calzone!!! And he is hard to impress, and he still tells people how yummy it was! The... More

I'm old Montréal this is a hidden - for the moment - gem. Every aspect of our meal was great. We shared the antipasto misto- maybe the best I have had in years. Freshly sliced meats, says moly amazing bocconcini, and perfectly marinated mushrooms, olives. Followed up with the most spectacular lamb meatballs. Stunning house made tomato sauce...we saved it... Casual eatery. We went there because we were looking for a decent, relatively inexpensive meal after having had a rich meal the night before. The place was jam-packed with people of all ages (though I didn't notice any children), everyone chatting and having fun. Known for their pizzas, they also have other options. On the night we visited the appetizers... More

This is our second time at Dolcetto. This was a pre-theater dinner. We arrived at 6 PM and the play was at 8 PM. the restaurant is about a 10 minute walk. We informed our waiter of this. The restaurant was not full and during our time there tables were arriving at an average pace. No rush or large groups.... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
