In Montreal, most of the Arabic places we have are fast food restaurant, but barely authentic cuisine like this restaurant! It was a great experience for my family and I! Food was delicious and the staff were friendly. I would recommend making a reservation in advance though!

Disappointing experience. Food was below average (meat was chewy, the type you would expect in a low end chain restaurant not a supposedly higher end one), service was mediocre. Save your money. There are many better options for middle eastern food in Montreal.

Our first dinner was the 43$ prix fixe menu for a group of 18. Perfection all around including the very helpful and animated waiter. The sommelier helped us with the wine but unfortunately the Sauvignon Blanc is not up to par with other restos. Our second dinner was with a smaller group of 3, and we asked for helped from... More

So big difference of opinion on the food from ok to excellent. Best kababs ever was one remark. Falafel ok. Not sure we would return.

We went to Alep for our first time last nite (Sat Oct 29th ) and were blown away. The food and service were phenomenal. Our waiter was ERIC who suggested the tasting menu since it was our first visit and he was bang on. He described with great detail all the dishes and we were never disappointed. He easily accommodated... More

We were in a large group. The staff was extremely accommodating with our special foods requests. They modified their "tasting meal" so that there were options for everyone. Service was timely and polite. They handled a crowd easily. Excellent Syrian food.

Was at Alep yesterday and it was my 3rd time this year. I am always very impressed with the food. It is tasty, fresh and the flavours are exquisite and well balanced. For the second time in a row though, I have gotten moody service. Our waitress seemed like she didn't want to be there. At first I thought she... More

Not the Syrian cuisine we expected. It was crowded. Not crazy about the service and we did not like the food. Everyone else was enjoying so much, this probably was not our type of place.

Staying in Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension

Neighbourhood Profile
The most ethnically diverse of all of Montreal's neighbourhoods, Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension (or, Parc-Ex) stands at the city's centre, a hub for rail and metro traffic. Starting at the old station where the Canadian Pacific used to disembark, the brick-and-mortar surroundings of Parc-Ex have a homey feel, with leafy lawns and bicycle lanes seamlessly incorporated into the landscape. With prominent Greek and Spanish communities, Greektown includes the tastiest stops for brochettes and shawarma, and local bars entertain an excitable soccer fanbase. Jerry Park and Stade Uniprix stand ready for sports diehards to enjoy a game, while the the Complexe Environnemental Saint-Michel and Le Taz skate parks invite athletes to train and compete. Though built for the active and best by day, Cirque du Soleil, the TOHU center for arts, and the Le Boulevard shopping centre offer diversions for those who wish to stay late.
