We had driven all the way from Saranac Lake, NY. primarily to eat Ethiopian here as we do not have an Ethiopian restaurant where we live. 2.5 hours each way, we had called when we were arriving in the city-no answer. Arrived and parked near the restaurant's location at 6:30. Hours posted on the door mimic hours posted on their... More

We really enjoyed our experience--the food was amazingly tasty...and spicy! The service was great--this is a cozy little restaurant with a low-key, relaxed vibe,

A small, simple, family-run restaurant that serves authentic Ethiopian cuisine. Amazing food - all the flavours were wonderful. Better (and cheaper) than Blue Nile! We were a large group (the restaurant opened on Christmas day just for us.) A fun eating experience: a huge plate per 4-6 people, piled with everyone's choices, from which you eat with your hand, using... More

This is my first time writing a second review for a place, but I just couldn't help myself. I've always known the basic facts about this place: it's incredibly slow, the owners are sort of strange, etc etc. I've reconciled myself to that fact, however yesterday's experience just threw me over the edge. The place is no longer a bring... More

Sweet Ethiopian couple where the wife makes these large breads in which you put your food ... there's no utensils you rip the bread and grab your food with it! Great experience for my daughter! Plus, the food is excellent.

We love this restaurant. We come armed with a case of beer prepared to wait. By the time the food arrives we are happy, starved and never disappointed. A great place to bond with friends. No utensils required. AMY.

(1) Reserve (2) Order in advance (place your order when you make your reservation) (3) Be prepared to still wait 1 hour + for your food (4) Have an amazing meal with bright, unusual flavours and delicious spicing and friendly service A "hole in the wall", as others have commented, but full of character and very much worth it -... This place serves great, homecooked food at a reasonable price. As many others have mentioned, it is SLOW. Like really, really slow. That being said, it's a bring your own wine, so you can make an evening out of it and probably drink a bottle (or two) while you wait for your food. This place requires reservations, so make sure... First of all .. Make reservations otherwise you'll never get a table. There's a choice of Ethiopian dishes all served on Injera a sourdough-risen flatbread, which also serves as your knife, fork and spoon. The restaurant is 100% BYOB whether it's wine or soft drinks,. Be prepared to wait at least an hour after you've given your order. This is... More
